I’ve got mine out for the first time tonight and OMG what a slice of heaven it is to my tootsies

Yep living in a student house (heating is included with the rent but my room is sun facing so I've got the radiator switched off or I roast during the day) but I need the additional warmth at night.

EleanorLavish · 30/10/2018 22:24

Been using mine for quite a while. There is nothing like a hot water bottle. When it’s really cold I use two, one for feet and one for tummy.
I have an electric blanket at my mums, and although nice it’s no where near as good as a hot water bottle IMO.

Bunnybigears · 30/10/2018 22:27

Yes but mostly for cuddling whilst watching TV in the evening once in bed DH radiates an irrational amount of heat so I am always warm enough.

PeridotCricket · 30/10/2018 22:35

Electric blanket and winter weight duvet. Love the blanket more than my husband.

GoodHeavensNoImAChicken · 30/10/2018 22:36

I only briefly put mine away from June-aug so yes, im 8 weeks into HWB season in my house

Growingboys · 30/10/2018 22:36

Yes! So happy to have my hotties back. I've washed the covers so they're clean and bought a new fluffy one in Boots too.

sonlypuppyfat · 30/10/2018 22:37

No, because I'm not nesh

SilverHairedCat · 30/10/2018 22:53

OMG. Bed. Heaven. So far, electric blanket success. Bonus of a happy cat.

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 30/10/2018 23:04
  1. And a cat. And a child. And a winter duvet.
I like a nice cold room though. Toasty body, frozen nose. DH hates it but he's not here in the week... and the kids take after me
EgremontRusset · 30/10/2018 23:11

Electric blanket instead. Bliss. And amazing for your back too, really helps you relax the muscles.

GrumpyOldMare · 30/10/2018 23:27

Rather my electric blanket.Works wonders for my arthritis and dodgy back.

EnidButton · 30/10/2018 23:27

Yet? I've had two on the go since September. Worst thing about the hot summer was not being able to hug a hot water bottle.

Room cold, hot water bottle on feet and one for hugging purposes. Helps with joint pain but I just like them anyway.

Also highly recommend to anyone who has trouble sleeping or is suffering with anxiety. They relax your muscles and are very comforting.

Storm4star · 30/10/2018 23:28

I am still weirdly really hot at night. I’m having to keep my bedroom windows wide open and there’s no radiator in my room. I feel cold in the day but at night i’m sweltering. I actually feel like the heatwave messed up my internal thermostat as I’ve never been like this before.

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 30/10/2018 23:38

And the second cat has joined us. It must be really cold tonight!

UpstartCrow · 30/10/2018 23:52

I have mine on my lap. I've got an electric blanket on my bed and that goes on high for an hour before I climb in. Its blissful.

PeridotCricket · 31/10/2018 06:25

@storm4star how old are you? Menopause...?

Notso · 31/10/2018 06:44

I only use one if I'm ill and have the shivers. An electric blanket is like a torture device to me! I stayed at my Mums once and she put it on, I thought I would melt.
I like to get into a cold bed and have the window open.

ShirleyPhallus · 31/10/2018 07:13

No, because I'm not nesh

What does nesh mean?

OP posts:
sonlypuppyfat · 31/10/2018 07:36

ShirleyPhallus nesh means soft or feeble

ShirleyPhallus · 31/10/2018 08:07

sonlypuppyfat nowt feeble about having a hot water bottle, you’re really missing out! Try it!

OP posts:
sonlypuppyfat · 31/10/2018 09:13

But it's not winter yet!

3WildOnes · 31/10/2018 09:22

I hate the cold but my house hasn’t dropped below 16 yet and I have a down duvet so I’m actually too hot at night and am having to open the window.

SilverHairedCat · 31/10/2018 09:27

@sonlypuppyfat it's been -2c here at times the last few nights and I'm in the south west of England. Its cold enough!

anewyear · 31/10/2018 09:31

I have a hot water bottle year round, can't sleep if my feet get cold

DiaryofWimpyMum · 31/10/2018 09:36

I have an electric blanket. My mum bought it for me for my birthday not long after I split with my ex. I can't leave it in all night (menopausal) but love getting into a warm bed.
