What to eat with sausage rolls to make it a meal?

Just that really.

Making sausage rolls today and wondering what I can make with them for us to eat for dinner tonight? Was thinking beans but just sausage rolls and beans seems measly and not the most nutritious!

Apologies for this almost entirely pointless question on a Monday morning Smile

I was coming on to say beans! I don’t think there’s much else that would work really, and tbh the odd meal without much nutrition won’t kill anyone. Sweecorn maybe?

ArtyFartyQueen · 29/10/2018 07:17

We normally do mash and beans or mash and carrots/broccoli and the kids sometimes request gravy too! Essentially a sausage roll is quite like a pie so whatever you would serve with that!

Mashed potato and peas/sweetcorn.

Chips and beans 😋

I would do a green salad with it. Then it classifies as a meal in my book. Meat, carby stuff and healthy stuff.

AdaColeman · 29/10/2018 07:18

Cauliflower cheese.
Selection of salads.
Ratatouille

ShatnersBalloonFromPennywise · 29/10/2018 07:18

Salad and pickles.

Glitterkitten24 · 29/10/2018 07:19

Heinz tomato soup. It’s more of a lunch than a dinner but it is devine (if not exactly the healthiest lunch I’ve ever had!)

Daisywho · 29/10/2018 07:19

Ooooh, chips and tomato sauce, surely? Grin

BigSandyBalls2015 · 29/10/2018 07:20

Potato salad

fluffiphlox · 29/10/2018 07:20

Salad, pickles, chutney.

Tartanwallpaper · 29/10/2018 07:23

Tomato soup to dip

HolyMountain · 29/10/2018 07:32

I’d second cauliflower cheese and whack in some broccoli too, job’s a goodun.

BarbaraofSevillle · 29/10/2018 07:33

Beans sounds fine and it's far from meagre. Loads of calories and protein/fibre. No-one would melt if they had one meal with no green in it. Salad would be weird.

CarrieBlu · 29/10/2018 07:35

Mash and beans

Potterpotty · 29/10/2018 07:36

My DP loves sausage roll, chips and beans as he says it reminds him of school dinners haha

Bunnybigears · 29/10/2018 07:37

BitOfFun · 29/10/2018 07:43

Brown sauce.

Allyg1185 · 29/10/2018 07:44

Homemade chunky chips and beans

JollyAndBright · 29/10/2018 07:45

We would have salad.

rosy71 · 29/10/2018 07:54

I thought of beans straight away. You could have cups too. Or chips/potatoes & veg.

LongSummerDays · 29/10/2018 07:54

Another sausage roll. Grin

rosy71 · 29/10/2018 07:55

Whoops, that should be chips not cups!

fufulina · 29/10/2018 07:56

I did this for saturday lunch with friends a few weeks ago. Sausage rolls, potato wedges and the Mary Berry foolproof green salad - which has crunch and deliciousness. Was good.

CartwheelCath · 29/10/2018 07:56

You won't need more carbs. So it would just be veg really.

I would do beans or maybe mushy peas.

PollyFlinderz · 29/10/2018 07:58

Mashed potato and beans or veg
