What behaviour from strangers that is not affecting you in any way really gets on your nerves?

For me, it’s people who keep their coat on when they sit down in a restaurant. We went out for lunch today, two women in ENORMOUS coats at the table next to us, kept them on until partway through their meal.

Disclaimer: I know it’s none of my business, I’m lucky I have nothing bigger to worry about and they might just (both) really feel the cold.

People spitting, it's disgusting

megletthesecond · 28/10/2018 22:31

Other people tutting and getting huffy when there's a slow queue to be served. I wish they'd chill out and just wait without being so blooming dramatic.

Greycat11 · 28/10/2018 22:32

People with colds who sniff loudly instead of blowing their noises. It's disgusting and the noise drives me nuts!

DeusEx · 28/10/2018 22:33

Foot tapping. Drives me MENTAL.

Fairylea · 28/10/2018 22:34

All of the above.

Plus people swearing in public for no other reason than randomly saying “fuck” or “fucking” every other word. I can’t stand it.

There's a woman in my spin class who just doesn't even try. She ignores the instructor and basically slow pedals all the way through. Gives me the absolute fucking rage.

Magik1 · 28/10/2018 22:35

When I hear people walk out another toilet cubicle at work and not wash their hands, doesn't happen often but when it does drives me nuts.

Sohardtochooseausername · 28/10/2018 22:37

Mouth breathing

dawnacorns · 28/10/2018 22:37

Talking on those earphones on phones so it looks like they're just talking out loud when they're on a call.
Talking on the phone while holding it away from them parallel to the floor
Wearing those earphone thingys with no wires attached
Grin

madeyemoodysmum · 28/10/2018 22:37

Loud chewing
Look at me types
Any repetitive noise

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 28/10/2018 22:38

Couples on property programmes like escape to the country who walk around from room to room holding hands, they all do it, it’s a bug bear of mine, it has no impact on me whatsoever but it gives me the rage!

NorthEndGal · 28/10/2018 22:39

The lady in front of us at Walmart tonight examined every single item coming out of her cart as if she had never seen it before!

She'd lift up a sweater, turn it over a few times, hold it up, check the price, examine the stitching, put it on the conveyor belt.
Pick up a bottle of Coke, then it round , read the label, one to the belt.
Picked up a box of toothpaste, read the box, etc...

She was only mildly hilda up the line, as the person before her was still paying, but still!
She was the only one with the cart , so she must have been the one to put every thing in it. Yet every single thing was like a surprise to her!

Scabetty · 28/10/2018 22:44

People who have parked badly; across bays, diagonally without a care in the world - boils my piss.

Gran22 · 28/10/2018 22:45

Spitting, eating open mouthed, swearing at children, starting sentences with 'myself'. People pushing to get on the tram or train before everyone can get off. Oh, and people who wait til they get on the bus before searching for their money or their travel pass.

SnipSnipMisterBurgess · 28/10/2018 22:48

Arguments or complaints (including arguing couples) in restaurants. I used to work in customer service in hotels/hospitality and if I become aware of ‘situations’ I get very distracted —and a small bit over-interested— and feel very ill at ease until the situation is resolved.

CiderBrains · 28/10/2018 22:51

I cannot stand people who "show off."

It's more likely to make me not take any notice of them!

VonHerrBurton · 28/10/2018 23:09

Clinging onto phones for dear life. In restaurants, in the cinema, theatres, gigs wherever - constantly checking them. Ok, ok, I get there are some instances where it may be necessary. I also get that teenagers all do it.

But adults? It's annoying to me. I find myself cringing when people my age are more interested I their phones than the company they're with.

For the record yes I do own a phone, have all the latest crapola on it but when I'm with my family, or friends, I'm a real pedant for enjoying our time together. Mostly they agree, hence it doesn't directly affect me. Unless it's my teenage son and nieces. I've given up nagging themGrin

BiologyMatters · 28/10/2018 23:17

People who don't clap at shows and concerts. Or if they do clap but not as enthusiastically as I think they should. Like those people, when everyone else is doing the standing ovation at the end and some miserable bastards sit there with their arms folded. Drives me up the wall!

LilMadAgain · 28/10/2018 23:22

People reaching past me to pick something up in a shop, thrusting their arm an inch from my face and ignoring the fact that im badly balancing on crutches. They could just ask me to move!

ColinsVeryJolly · 28/10/2018 23:22

People who whistle. Drives me nuts.

pachyderm · 28/10/2018 23:26

Loud swearing in public. Now I have the mouth of a longshoreman but I save it for familiar people and surroundings, it's really crass to be fucking and cunting at the top of your voice on a train or something, with little kids around.Haloween Sad

Itsacakebaby · 28/10/2018 23:37

Oh yes, whistlers - they drive me insane

People who cross their legs then keep moving the foot about in the air. If it catches my eye it gives me the rage (odd I know)

SpikyHair · 28/10/2018 23:44

Absolutely fucking everything. I need to live in a detached house. On an island. With animals. And a drawbridge.

JaneJeffer · 29/10/2018 00:00

Those men (it's always men) in the supermarket with an empty basket standing in front of a shelf for about five minutes just staring at the cheese or whatever and you're waiting for them to move along and then you decide to just go round them and then they move towards you and nearly crash into you.

alfiesmam · 29/10/2018 00:14

People who stand right up behind me in queues and you try take a giant step forward but no there they are RIGHT BEHIND ME again practically breathing in my ear 👹
