Tell me what to treat myself to?

My granddad has given me a credit card to spend money on myself, it has £500 limit on it and I am allowed to max it out if I want to.

But I don't know what I want! I am not allowed to spend any of the money on my DD (aged 3) as I spend any spare money on her as it is.

So what do I want?

I like gadgets but already have amazon echo dots in living room and kitchen, I also like Sims 4 and have most of the expansion packs for that but don't get much time to play it as DD has SN so spend a lot of time sorting her out (I am an LP). I like cats (hence the username), wax melts and chocolate.

I also have a cat who I am allowed to spend money on too.

I don't want to spend a huge amount as it's a lot of money, but granddad says it needs to feel like a treat and a bit of luxury.

If you can't decide what to buy, maybe an experience? (Or several?)

I recently went on a lovely silver-clay jewellery day, we made amazing jewellery and I took it home.

Or a trip? City break type thing.

A winter coat
Hair done
Beauty advent calendar

HildaZelda · 28/10/2018 16:38

Handbag? Niece piece of jewellery? A watch perhaps.

HollowTalk · 28/10/2018 16:39

What a lovely man!

What are your interests?

LondonLassInTheCountry · 28/10/2018 16:39

A credit card? So your grandad will be paying interest on it?

If thats the case, i wouldnt be spending anything, but thats just me

CatLadyToddlerMother · 28/10/2018 16:43

LondonLassInTheCountry He'll have paid it off by December, he's got quite a comfortable life (owns on home with no mortgage, has a decent car, regularly out for meals etc with his family and friends), never struggles for money and is very generous.

Interests. I like swimming, gadgets like I said; I have an Iphone, Ipad and smart speakers, I walk most places as I don't have a car, I like swimming. Oh and crime dramas both reading and watching them.

A very classic handbag and if there's enough left over a really nice pair of earrings. I love Alex Monroe! Check out Alex Monroe earrings.

Lorddenning1 · 28/10/2018 16:45

New eyebrows :) and a facial

sweatthesmallstuff · 28/10/2018 16:46

A mini break or towards a nice holiday .
A couple of nice things that willl last like a nice winter coat
New boots .

FortyFacedFuckers · 28/10/2018 16:49

Expensive jacket?
Bag?
I would probably spend it on some beauty treatments, possibly a night/weekend away?
Beauty calendar then you will get a treat every day in December?

1moreRep · 28/10/2018 16:49

netflix subscription or cinema pass?

swimming watch ie apple watch

all new nice makeup

Taffeta · 28/10/2018 16:49

I’d say a proper treat would be some luxury time off

Do you have someone who can have DD for the day?

I’d either take a friend or go solo and have a fabulous day out. A wonderful lunch (or afternoon tea if that’s your thing), a massage, buy a fabulous dress and shoes and then on somewhere for cocktails.

MissTeriName · 28/10/2018 16:51

What a lovely, caring man your grandad is! How about treating yourself to something you can keep to remind you him? An ornament, a picture? Anything that makes you smile.

Or something to treat each of your senses, so something nice to look at, something to listen to - or through - some headphones perhaps? A fancy candle for the smell, a soft, snuggly blanket for the touch, and something yummy to taste.

driggle · 28/10/2018 16:51

Sims 4, cats and crime dramas? Can we be BFFs OP?

Do you need something for your computer? New headphones or keyboard perhaps? I'd probably spend it on a new winter wardrobe if I had £500. I know your grandad doesn't want you to spend it on your DD, but what about a weekend away? Butlins? She's the perfect age for that sort of thing.

Alwayscheerful · 28/10/2018 16:53

Smart winter coat and boots or handbag.

Racecardriver · 28/10/2018 16:53

Get some good quality shoes and a top notch coat. They should last you ten years.

CatLadyToddlerMother · 28/10/2018 17:02

A new cat? A British short hair? The are too cute

Shopping? Hair done? Driving lessons? Expensive clothes/shoes? A holiday? A spa day?

Bimgy85 · 28/10/2018 17:09

Nice pieces for your bedroom? Furniture or accessories , huge mirror? New coffee machine?

ChoudeBruxelles · 28/10/2018 17:11

Jewellery or something you can keep as a reminder of your granddad giving you the money?

Shockers · 28/10/2018 17:13

If someone gave me £500 now, I’d go on a yoga retreat.

Kazplus2 · 28/10/2018 17:23

Oh I think I agree with the cost
A really good quality classic style one that you would bring out every year. Maybe a lovely quality scarf too.

fluffycatinahat · 28/10/2018 18:05

That's so nice!!

He's obviously giving you a hint to put yourself first for a change so I would get a mix of frivolous and classic things you will use a lot.

Eg a nice haircut, a new swimming costume, a good quality coat, boots, trainers, sunglasses. Maybe a piece of jewellery you could wear often?

Redtartanshoes · 28/10/2018 18:07

Headphones for swimming?

Redtartanshoes · 28/10/2018 18:08

Something you’ll be able to keep. My grandad used to do this a lot for me, he died at the beginning of the year and the things he bought me mean so much more now. (((Looks at washing machine and Barbour jacket)))
