Smoked cheddar or other smoked cheese is delicious, use in the sauce or sprinkle on top

rosettesforjill · 28/10/2018 07:38

Had a lovely one yesterday with roasted squash and crispy sage breadcrumbs on top

WutheringTights · 28/10/2018 07:38

Roasted butternut squash. It's a go to in this house.

bastardkitty · 28/10/2018 07:39

Veggie bacon?

MrsA2015 · 28/10/2018 07:39

Pine nuts! Mushrooms, onion, or you could do a Cajun spiced version with sweet corn

Joinourclub · 28/10/2018 07:41

Mustard in the cheese sauce.

Topped with either sliced tomatoes or garlic mushrooms.

Served with a salad 🥗 including capers.

Dried porcini mushrooms

I love the one Pret a Manger does: broccoli and kale.

SuburbanRhonda · 28/10/2018 07:45

Agree with cherry tomatoes but roast them in the oven first with olive oil and garlic, then stir them into the dish before you put into the oven.

GallicosCats · 28/10/2018 08:20

How about the sun-dried tomatoes in oil you can get from Lidl or similar? If you slice them in strips they are rather good in bakes.

Littlemissindifferent · 28/10/2018 08:28

What’s your recipe calm?

Faster · 28/10/2018 08:31

Sliced cherry tomatoes mixed through. Mustard in the sauce, cheese and onion crisps broken up and sprinkled on the top with some more cheese.

LittleBookofCalm · 28/10/2018 08:32

spinach

StripySocksAndDocs · 28/10/2018 08:43

No bacon?

Though if you're after the taste, then add a small amount of smoked paprika when frying the leeks.

LittleBookofCalm · 28/10/2018 08:44
