I pass this place most mornings and had wondered how much it was!

Now I know!

Wow! That's beautiful but I'd be terrified of flooding plus that is a busy stretch for drinkers. Love the pink bedroom den for a child. The kitchen floor would have to go though...

Rebecca36 · 25/10/2018 10:58

Very nice. Bit too big for me and my husband I think but lovely for a younger family.

EdisonLightBulb · 25/10/2018 11:00

Who lives in a house like this? best Lloyd Grossman voice

Seriously, who does? what do they do? what do they earn?

youarenotkiddingme · 25/10/2018 11:02

Lovely house.

Needs decorating and better furniture!

Lovely river location but don't fancy from lounge front becoming a pub garden!

Totally agree with PP who said pick it up and dump it in a rural location (still by a river!) and the design would be perfect!

ladycarlotta · 25/10/2018 11:06

Oh gosh, my grandma used to live round there in the 30s in genteel artsy poverty. She and the other local kids used to play down on the foreshore and walk home covered in mud. Eight million quid!

I'd redecorate for sure, but I'm feeling a bit sick now that I am scraping £ together to purchase a 1960s ticky-tacky box for one-thirty-third of the price.

HeronLanyon · 25/10/2018 11:06

I too am happy to not buy and allow another here to go ahead with their purchase. Stunning and garden lovely but overlooked (gardens and very busy thamesmpath) party walls (noise). I too would need a lot to de-ornaticise (!) everywhere. It is however lovely. I’ll continue to look for me 9 million pound bargain SmileSmileSmileSmile

TattyCat · 25/10/2018 11:06

I love the kitchen floor!! I can't imagine why anyone would want to spend £8.7M on a house with neighbours though! Unless it was a second home, of course...

HeronLanyon · 25/10/2018 11:07

Hmm didn’t mean any smiley let alone 4 !!

waterlego6064 · 25/10/2018 11:09

Wow, it’s beautiful, and massive!

But I wouldn’t want to live near a river or canal. And if I had £8m, I wouldn’t buy a terraced house, however beautiful!

Hemlock2013 · 25/10/2018 11:14

Does it remind anyone of the house in taboo with Tom hardy??

LightDrizzle · 25/10/2018 11:17

That’s so beautiful and incorporates so many things I love; good hallway, walled garden, arched landing window, terrace, river view. The rooms and original features are perfect. The decor and furnishing is a bit overdone for me in places but that’s easily remedied, with my mythological budget.
The best UK property I’ve seen for ages.

TheRattleBag · 25/10/2018 11:18

Not sure what it says about me (certainly not that I'm overly house-proud!) but my first reaction was, "Gosh, I bet those pelmets are dusty!"

Storm4star · 25/10/2018 11:19

What do people think of the bedroom with the curtains at the end of the bed? (pic 7) I'm soon going to be knocking two rooms into one to make a layout similar to that and had considered leaving a bit going across the top and making defined areas like that. Or I just knock out the wall completely. I haven't decided yet.

LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2018 11:20

I love it. I would love to live there.

happypoobum · 25/10/2018 11:22

I absolutely love it except for the kitchen. What sort of moron covers up a beautiful fireplace with a naff island?

I could live there so happily.....

AnonaMouse1 · 25/10/2018 11:29

There will be a 'river smell' to accompany it

Do like the view of tower bridge though

Deathraystare · 25/10/2018 11:31

I shall continue to dream (of course in my dream the pubs are not there and no walkers either!). I am very much a town mouse not a country one so I couldn't transport it to a quiet country place!

I also could not afford 8 million, funnily enough!

Love it. But a tv over the fireplace? Quelle horreur! Grin

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 11:39

I really like the house - it's fabulous and beautifully furnished - but not the location. Plus I can't imagine wanting to pay 9 million for a house that isn't detached!

ThePhantomRaspberryBlowerOfOld · 25/10/2018 11:41

I wouldn’t want to own that house when sea levels start to rise

StopTheRoundabout · 25/10/2018 11:42

Awww, it was all going so well until I saw the price tag! Shock Grin

Ontopofthesunset · 25/10/2018 11:42

It is lovely and we have been musing about how much it would be too as we pass it very frequently. I love the garden, which is surprisingly big.

But it is very near the bridge (noisy Hammersmith with frequently queueing traffic and buses) and the pubs and if I had the money I would be looking for a house further west on Upper Mall or Chiswick Mall. But I don't.

I would love to live overlooking the river though.

InsomniacAnonymous · 25/10/2018 11:43

"Do like the view of tower bridge though"

What do you mean? It's nowhere near Tower Bridge.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 11:49

PP obviously just mistook the bridge for Tower Bridge. Pretty easy mistake if you don't know London particularly well.

TheClitterati · 25/10/2018 11:49

its Hammersmith Bridge - which is very pretty but always in need of a proper paint job
