Just been reading in the news that the couple did NOT make the baby announcement to family at the wedding, close family including Jack and Eugenie already knew. For some it was the first opportunity to congratulate them in person. That is all. No announcement was made to the guests.

They probably felt they wouldn't be able to keep it under wraps much longer and announcing the pregnancy in Oz would give them a breather and a chance for everyone in the UK to get used to the idea.

Wallis and Meghan are American and therefore related.

It’s true but Charles was not gracious when Diana was immediately massively popular. He didn’t have the foresight or maturity to see what a massive asset she could be. She desperately needed support and really she could have had some media training and other help, but instead her husband resented her popularity.

Diana and Meghan are individuals with their own personalities and joined royalty at completely different ages and stages in their lives, let alone eras.

It was a completely different time and place when Diana married Charles. She didn’t receive any of the support that Jate and Meghan are now enjoying. Diana was also expected to show up on engagements throughout her pregnancy and didn’t have months off either.

I used to follow her blog and loved her style and cooking and book recommendations. As a person I thought she seemed a bit fake but I don't think that makes me racist. I also love all the work Angelina Jolie does and have huge respect for her. She also seems like a handful in her private life. Public figures will always have people jumping to conclusions as to weather they are great or awful people. I don't think every single person who dislikes her is racist. Sometimes you just don't like people.

Tbh I think Kate and Meghan deserve medals for taking on the Royal family and all it entails.

I agree. They never give out exact dates. Kate's dates have never been released.

Well, important or not, I think it is great news. They appear to be a lovely couple so I wish them well.

Can't say I've come across any Meghan haters. Most people I speak to, if they mention her at all, seem to like her. What's not to like? Are the 'haters' jealous?

Omg, thank you for this post. Yesterday I couldn't sleep for concern over Eugenie and how she must think her marriage is meaningless because this baby is seen as way cooler than she is already and its not even born. At least she knew before the wedding that she's further away from the throne than ever so she knows Jack didn't marry her just for a go in the hot seat.
