I had a rotten sleep and ended up just getting up around 6am

I'm usually a great sleeper but last night, late on, someone texted me something so braggy and self absorbed I couldn't sleep for being so annoyed and angry

what's your excuse?

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/10/2018 10:11

I'd not slept for a few nights - was getting 3-5 hours of sleep. Suddenly twigged yesterday that my cold medication (sudafed) was sending my heart rate right up. So didn't take any and lo and behold I got a much better nights sleep.

Trampire · 14/10/2018 10:12

I couldn't sleep because I'm worried about my dd13. She's been having little 'attacks' of Deja vu for over 3 weeks (like little seizures) that leave her with a mild headache and feeling really tired.

Have been to the GP and am on a waiting list to see neurologist but may be up 8 weeks wait.

I'm trying to decide whether to track down a private neurologist on Monday.

ChristmasAccountant · 14/10/2018 10:12

Husband snoring, ds4 getting up at 450 and declaring it time to get up. Also 25 weeks pregnant and baby having a rave most of the night. I’ve given up on the idea of sleep until about 2025.

Trampire · 14/10/2018 10:15

For what's worth OP, direct bragging makes me extremely irritated too.

twiglet · 14/10/2018 10:19

Pregnancy insomnia had it for months now awake most nights for several hours.

Had a great night on Friday so sods law last night was horrific!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/10/2018 10:31

@Misen best post ever!
I didn't sleep because we're two weeks on from h moving out & he's messing around both me & the dc with when he takes them & he sent a horrid controlling message to me last night.
I've now decided it can be sorted through solicitors as he's impossible to deal with.

CormoranStrike · 14/10/2018 10:44

My puppy in the face is very tame compared with @Misen lol

DeadCertain · 14/10/2018 10:52

Nightmares and then up at 0300 for work!

mybumpismostlypudding · 14/10/2018 10:53

ssd I know the type, how annoying! Definitely avoid them for a while haha

mybumpismostlypudding · 14/10/2018 10:54

Go you 💫

ASD son woke with stomach ache around 5am, so we both got up at 5:30am. I watched three episodes of Horizon on catch-up.

longtompot · 14/10/2018 11:12

3rd night of little or no sleep. Itchy skin (run out of antihistamines) and ds was home from uni with his gf. Got quite used to it being quiet after we go to bed at night.
Last night it was the dh snoring his head off after several ciders. I am doing Sober for October so not drinking.
Oh, the first night 3 nights ago was due to the wind making a bit of loose window flashing even looser and make the most horrendous amount of noise until dh pulled it all out at 4am.

I hope I sleep tonight, changing the bedding to make doubly sure.

Tomboytown · 14/10/2018 11:16

Horrendous headache
Up 3 times for the loo
My son left the heating on
Bad dream about ex
Nice dream about Aidan Turner

glenthebattleostrich · 14/10/2018 11:38

I was at a pta gathering and ended up drinking gin in the heads hottub with the rest of the pta until 3. Then my arsehole puppy decided we had to get up and play at 6.

AdorableMisfit · 14/10/2018 11:44

My 9 month old DS has a cold and is teething at the same time. He kept me up from 1:14 a.m. until 3 a.m. crying on and off. He finally settled in our bed after some Calpol, but of course, then I couldn't sleep properly because I'm concentrating on making sure he's safe and hasn't managed to wriggle himself in under my pillow or got squashed by his dad who sleeps like a log and barely noticed DS was crying. Must be nice to be able to sleep through pretty much anything...

DrWhy · 14/10/2018 12:01

I went out to a work event with DH, black tie and very nice. Left reasonably early to get home for the babysitter before midnight, toddler was then up at midnight, 2am and 5am before getting up for swimming at 7ish. I’m heavily pregnant so every time I woke it took an hour to go back to sleep, trying to get comfortable and worrying that the itching was a serious pregnancy complication (blood test Monday) - I feel like I’ve been run over by a bus!

PhysaliaPhysalis · 14/10/2018 12:11

Great advice, thanks @Shelvesoutofbooks

Hope all of you in shitty situations or who are unwell have a better time of it x

nandaandm · 14/10/2018 12:24

I've got the most horrendous dry barking cough which woke me up all through the night. It's so bad I've pulled a muscle in the left hand side of my ribcage. Poor me !

Lostmymarbles1985 · 14/10/2018 12:31

My 2 year old was vomiting most of the night so I was up changing bed sheets and doing washing. When she did manage to fall asleep DH was snoring so loud he's lucky to have woken up this morning!

Eminybob · 14/10/2018 13:07

36 weeks pg and suffering from spd, so was awake for an hour or 2 tossing and turning with the pain. I’d taken some paracetamol and was had just managed to get back to sleep when ds decided it was time to start the day at 6.30. DH did get up with him, but I was awake then and not likely to get back to sleep. When I did get up DH made me a fry up, despite not having one himself. He’s been a good husband today.

Kernowgal · 14/10/2018 13:21

A couple of glasses of white wine and I lay there all night wishing for sleep.

Doubly annoying because I have a long flight tonight and probably won't sleep on that either.

Pinky333777 · 14/10/2018 13:25

I was stuck on a small 2 seater sofa because I invited some kids I nannied for before I had my baby round for a sleepover and they had my bed.
And the baby wakes me in the early hours.
