WTF do I do now? Hairdressers

Biancadelriosback · 12/10/2018 10:10

Okay, so I arrived at the salon and it was closed. Hairdresser was 15 mins late for my app. I've never been here before so had no idea what to expect. I'm sat in what feels like an old office chair in front of a bejewelled mirror (homemade?) with foils in my hair. Apparently there is a £5 surcharge for my length (not outlined on the voucher). So far my layers have been cut in and when I say they are choppy...I mean...very obvious and drastic. I'm hoping she is going to revisit this after my foils are off....I'm terrified of the colour!

What do I do? What's if it's awful? I've literally never complained about a haircut before, although I have had many bad ones. Usually I just wear it up and grab a box dye if it's really bad but I want to woman up! I call upon the power of MN, help me?

I don't know how Groupon works, but can you send them photos of your hair along with the photo of what you wanted and get your money back?

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 12/10/2018 11:40

Oh no! have a fortifying cuppa and then go back and ask her to put it right

Why take the risk of her making it worse? Confused

Go somewhere else, OP! She wasn't capable of doing a good job half an hour ago, and I very much doubt she's acquired any new hairdressing skills since then!

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 12/10/2018 11:41

I'd be requesting a refund from Groupon to put towards getting it fixed!

The good news is what you have done will be easy to correct by a good hairdresser. With regards to what you can do either contact the hairdresser and ask for a refund or contact groupon and report. Can you leave revies on groupon?

Your hair will not get darker but you will be able to have some finer highlights weaved through and a toner put over to soften and darken. Your cut just needs thinking out by an experiencer hairdresser.

MaiaRindell · 12/10/2018 11:42

Go to a good hairdresser with a separate colour expert and get them to put a toner on it.

Oh no OP Shock get yourself to another salon, they should be able to fix the colour and will definitely be able to sort the choppy layers out. I had an awful experience with a mobile hairdresser- thick brassy stripes and layers which weren't even straight! I went to a mid price salon and she worked magic and it looks great now! I've learnt that sometimes you get what you pay for. I wouldn't have been so upset but my friend used the same mobile hairdresser and her hair looks great Confused

Twickerhun · 12/10/2018 11:47

Are you in a cathedral town in Hampshire? That cut sounds familiar to one a friend had done

VauxhallVectra · 12/10/2018 11:47

I'm a hairdresser.

OP, that sounds horrible. I'm really sorry for you.

Contact Groupon and ask for a refund. Then get yourself to a good hairdresser and get them to rectify things. I'd recommend going to them in person to show them the problem so they know what they're dealing with.

Then post reviews (with pictures) on this woman's Facebook site.

dawnacorns · 12/10/2018 11:48

Don't go back to a crap hairdresser and expect them to fix it! go elsewhere. Flowers

Biancadelriosback · 12/10/2018 12:59

Sorry I've been out with my mum.
The colour isn't bad, it's more Holly Willoughby than I wanted tbh. The whole style is like hers so I'm guessing that it must be popular? Really not happy about the dry cut! Never had that before :( I'll complain to Groupon for sure and leave a review. I'm not giving her the option to put it right....I don't trust her! She was full of cold as well :(

My app was at 9am but she was late so nearly 9:30 by the time we started and I was out by 11 I think

Eek.... def leave. A review

Biancadelriosback · 12/10/2018 13:04

My shortest layer is mid ear length and my hair is collar bone length....there are approx 3 noticeable layers

Fuck sake.

We have all had a bad haircut. I know it's no consolation but I remember a few years ago hacking off bits of hair with craft scissors whilst crying. I asked the hairdresser for a dip dye which was in at the time and she did some strange combination of bad layers and black hair dye (I asked for chocolate brown!!)

You just have to take it as a lesson learned. I now have an amazing hair dresser who I have followed round three different salons.

Biancadelriosback · 12/10/2018 19:22

At the risk of totally outing myself, I'm from Newcastle but live just outside...please does anyone know any good hairdresser's up here? I'm hoping my knight in shining rollers is around here somewhere and can offer me advice/help me fix my hair?

tectonicplates · 12/10/2018 19:39

I'm sure the good hairdressers will be used to fixing other people's mistakes.

I hope you write an honest review online!

Squirelslostnut · 12/10/2018 19:51

My SIL lives in that neck of the woods...I'll ask which salon she uses

TheMonkeyMummy · 12/10/2018 19:56

If you can go to Durham, Simply You is amazing. I love Laura, but they are all good.

Not sure where outside Newcastle you are but I use Sanctuary in Springs Gym at Kingston Park. Who did you go to today?
