Is suiting the car you drive a thing?

My friend was very flattered to be told yesterday that she suited the car she drove. I can’t even begin to think of factoring in whether you suit a car when buying one! (Not sure that she actually did, but still!).

Anyway - got me thinking. I drive a fiat (using the term “drive” loosely - it starts on probably 2 times out of 10). So if my fiat suits me - what am I like?!

I’m thinking there’s mileage (hah) in this for a mn game - tell us what you drive and we’ll describe you. Or pick a car and tell us what sort of owners it suits?!

Ps My lovely Ds drives an Audi - just trying to preempt any insults ...

I drive a BMW M135i. I like to think it says ‘petrolhead / girl racer’, but It’s more likely that it says absolutely nothing because to most people it’s just another boring 1-series.

Petalflowers · 10/10/2018 21:48

Tubby - leaf. You have a reasonably bly paid job, as I assume you brought it new, but due to the cost of petrol decided to get a Leaf to reduce running costs. You either have a young family, or work locally tomwhere you live, as the Leaf is not a long distance commuting car.

Can I join in?

I drive a black Smart Fortwo with private number plates. What can you guess about me?

StillMedusa · 10/10/2018 21:54

civicxx · 10/10/2018 21:55

Oooo me me!
I have a silver civic type s!! :)

Tubbyinthehottub · 10/10/2018 21:56

Petal - yup, I have a short commute and the main reason for getting it was that a parking permit for it costs peanuts rather than hundreds of pounds. It is great to drive though Smile

Aqua25 · 10/10/2018 21:58

I dnt think my car suits me at all but I drive an Audi Q5

VictoriaBun · 10/10/2018 21:58

My car is 14 years old which in human years is probably about 70, hasn't got much ommpf these days, is on a bit of a go slow and certainly isn't a head turner !

Longdistance · 10/10/2018 22:04

I drive a Mercedes coupe with pan roof, black alloys, lots of bells and whistles. It’s my ‘I’m fed up of being labelled a ‘mummy’ car’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

Screamqueenz · 10/10/2018 22:11

Audi TT has always been referred to a hairdressers car around here.

Screamqueenz · 10/10/2018 22:11

So youngish woman, very well groomed.

StripySocksAndDocs · 10/10/2018 22:13

@tierraJ, is it a mini bus, a bendy bus or a double decker. These are important details!

curlylocks101 · 10/10/2018 22:16

@Longdistance I love that! I drive a 12 year old Vauxhall estate. My colleagues were surprised when they realised it was mine so I do wonder what they’d assumed about it’s driver!

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 10/10/2018 22:20

I used to draw looks as the dog and I strode purposefully across the beach car park to the car
me: 5ft 8, long legged, tall but no longer willowy
dog: 49+kg fluffy GSD who could stand in for a large bear.
car: fiat seicento (two door)

He would shimmy behind the drivers seat and sprawl on the back seat ..they are a bit tardis like inside though.

Elphame · 10/10/2018 22:23

I have a heavily modified MX-5

InterstellarSleepingElla · 10/10/2018 22:24

I drive a 12 year old second hand ford c max. What does that say about me?

Longdistance · 10/10/2018 22:24

curly my previous car was a Vauxhall Insignia tourer (estate) it was 7 years old. I part exchanged it for my coupe. How funny. You know it’s calling you ‘ buy me, I’m fun!!!’

My dds keep asking for me to flip it into Sports mode Blush future girl racers...

HildaZelda · 10/10/2018 22:29
