If you could get scout badges (or guide) for adult life, what would you get

If scout or guide badges were given out for adult life skills - which ones would you get?

I reckon I could pass 'making a good cheese sauce' and 'advanced excel skills'.

I could definitely get a Wine and spirits 'appreciation' badge
also;
Making the house presentable in 10 mins or less
Hangover management/curing
Last minute Homework coordination
Excessively elaborate children's birthday parties

Uncreative · 08/10/2018 11:31

The very first adulting badge should be ‘does not run out of toilet paper’. That was my first adult life skill.

Flippetydip · 08/10/2018 11:50

Time wasting

Changing three beds in under 10 minutes

Looking in cupboards in the hope of finding something non-fattening to eat and shutting the cupboard door again - repeat throughout day

Getting everyone out the door in the morning with minimal things forgotten

Dog walking

NewYearmorestress · 08/10/2018 11:57

Pretending to care
Being nice to annoying people
Not saying "actually I'm a volunteer" to people dropping their kids off at the activity I help with asking me "are you one of the workers?"
Sewing on badges
Making a DC who "wants all the badges" work towards them
Necking vodka and not having a hangover

Rebecca36 · 08/10/2018 12:14

I'd get a skiving badge.

Flippetydip · 08/10/2018 12:19

newyear - how do I work towards the "being nice to annoying people" badge? I really really need to and I'm so so bad at it.

Camomila · 08/10/2018 13:10

Working on the laptop while breastfeeding a toddler badge...I think I should get a super shiny one too for the time I submitted a maths assignment while feeding a grumpy 2 year old who'd just woken up.

Makes a nice sponge with a variety of fillings badge.

Took weaning baby on a plane by myself badge.

I would fail a 'using google maps' badge. I hand my phone to strangers and ask them to point me the right way!

SoundofSilence · 08/10/2018 13:38

Spider eviction.

If get the golden 'P'
Pacifist
Pessimist
Procrastinator

Sgtmajormummy · 08/10/2018 13:56

Today I think I deserve a “putting MYSELF out to do other people a good turn” badge.
2 extra kids added to the school run (along the route) at the last second. Yes, I am keeping a mental tab...
But my Honorary badge would be in “Reading Bedtime Stories 20 Years’ Service”.

M3lon · 08/10/2018 14:15

I am currently wearing three badges. One is a bullying and harassment adviser badge, the other two are badges are for completing activities at Center Parcs Blush.

I have one for laser combat, which is nothing to be proud of, but I wear my Aerial Adventure badge with definite pride. Its very useful in meetings, to think 'no matter how shit this is, at least I'm not 6 m up a tree being harassed by a wasp.

CatchIt · 08/10/2018 14:23

Dishwasher loading badge.

I am literally an expert in loading dishwashers efficiently.

snowgirl1 · 08/10/2018 14:39

A 'sewing on Beaver badges' badge. No-one told me that I would need to be able to sew (a lot!) when I signed DD up for Beavers - challenge badges, district badges, group badges, activity badges...

ClemClemFandango · 08/10/2018 15:21

I'd get a 'Delegating' badge no bother. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I'm very good at that.
I'd also get a 'Making Decent Meals From Leftover Fridge Crap' badge.

DH would easily get his 'Spider/Moth/Caterpillar... Catching' badges.
And an 'Always Completes Jobs From A List' badge. He's great at it.

YBR · 08/10/2018 15:24

Looking properly, with my eyes Badge
AKA: finding things others have already "looked" for Badge.

Dancergirl · 08/10/2018 15:42

I'd definitely have my folding fitted sheets badge

I definitely wouldn't! Please share your tips especially the king size buggers.

TheMadGardener · 08/10/2018 15:46

Hanging the laundry in a logical way badge.

Being able to programme multiple programmes to record on the TV box.

Being able to dispose of nuisance phone callers in less than 5 seconds.

Being able to keep houseplants alive.

Being able to find things in less than 5 seconds when DH or DC are getting very cross and shouting about "it's GONE! someone's STOLEN IT!"

Being able to pack the fridge in a logical way with raw meat at the bottom and desserts at the top (I am famously particular about the way our fridge is packed after shopping and have trained DH and DDs to obey the fridge packing rules).

Washing and vacuuming the car badge.

Comparison shopping badge.

Getting the wireless printer to work badge when it's gone offline again and no one else in the house can get it to come back online again...
