Nosey thread.

What is everyone doing today?

We "camped" downstairs last night.
Every Saturday, we lug the matress and the quilts downstairs and spend the evening watching family films.
So this morning, i changed all the sheets, took everything back upstairs and have scrubbed all the bedrooms and bathroom.

I'm still in my PJs though. Did the kids a ham salad sandwich each for dinner (im northern. Its dinner not bloody lunch)
And now im debating what to eat. Ive no ham left and no money until tomorrow... i have cheese but don't think i fancy cheese...

We went to see the Liverpool giants yesterday (was quite spectacular) so we are all knackered today.

Dp and ds are playing video games upstairs, I'm dicking about on here. Everyone except dp is still in pjs. He went out to get some veggies for the roast I'm starting in an hour or so.
It's a cheats roast though, an Asda joint of beef with the gravy already made to shove in the oven with some aunt Bessie's roasties and frozen broccoli /carrots /peas.

Then it'll be bath with a lush bubble bath thing that you can blow bubbles with that he got for his birthday.

Get uniforms book bags etc ready for tomorrow and chill with a film.

Might go for a little walk after dinner if we feel like it /have time.

Pretty chilled out day all in all

We’re having a lazy day today. We’ve been out trying to teach our youngest to ride her bike without stabilisers this morning (not a very successful trip) and we’re all now in the house, eating dinner and watching various screens for an hour or so. The dc want to bake cakes later so I’ll be doing that with them then I’ll cook a roast, do homework with the 4 year old, iron work and school uniforms, then bath and bed for the dc. I can then sit on the sofa and do nothing again for a few hours before bed. Dh can do the cleaning while I do all the other stuff, he’s also considering having another crack at teaching the bike riding in an hour or two - good luck to him with that one!

HerRoyalFattyness · 07/10/2018 13:32

gemdrop84 that sounds like theres a lot of work involved, a stressful job, but also very rewarding.

BillywigSting bubble bath you can blow bubbkes with?! What is this sorcery?!

H went out to work at 8ish. I went back to bed until 9.30 Grin. It's gloriously sunny here, so we're just back from a walk/bike ride in the park. Will get the supper prepped in a minute and then maybe a board game.

Doje · 07/10/2018 13:40

I did the early shift with the kids, and took coffee up at 9am.

I then did a 9 km run a bit too chuffed with myself whilst DH and the kids made the Christmas pudding. Had lunch and a cuppa and now hopefully DH and the kids will make the Christmas cake whilst I get to catch up on Corrie!

Juanbablo · 07/10/2018 13:40

2 of our DC's took part in the Oxford School's Challenge today so we were up and out before 7am. They ran brilliantly and had a fun morning out. Once we got home I tidied up, sorted washing, hoovered, emptied bins, dd did homework, dh is still attempting to put up a blind. We are watching The Greatest Showman. Having a roast dinner later which I am looking forward to!

Therealjudgejudy · 07/10/2018 13:46

1 hour gym session this morning then came home and raked all the leaves in the front and back gardens. Nice hot shower and am currently on the couch with a coffee watching Judge Judy Smile.

I've some work prep to do for tomorrow and then I'm going to cook a nice dinner.

GnomeDePlume · 07/10/2018 13:47

Spent this morning making vegetable croquettes. Experimental so misjudged the quantities. We will be eating these until the next millennium.

Off to the allotment to put in the overwintering onions this afternoon.

mamaduckbone · 07/10/2018 13:48

Rugby and football with the dcs is taking up most of today.
I’d like to drag them out for a walk in the sun later to find skies but I doubt that will happen as they will both be knackered.

mamaduckbone · 07/10/2018 13:54

*sloes not skies!

wallyfeatures · 07/10/2018 14:19

HerRoyalFattyness at least you know now and not at bedtime Grin

1vandal2 · 07/10/2018 14:23

Serving all you people who absolutely have to do their weekly shop on a sunday so those of us in retail don't get the day off too

PurpleCrazyHorse · 07/10/2018 14:30

Was up at 5:50am with DS so I've been more productive than usual this morning...

  • dishwasher emptied, reloaded and on (after lunch)
  • 3rd load in the washing machine (our bedding), school uniform drying on the airer and a coloured wash on the line.
  • clean clothes put away and 'To Iron' pile is neatly folded in the basket
  • Christmas presents I bought this week have gone in the attic
  • hedge trimmed (with the new trimmer, very exciting), bit of gardening done

...now to put away the camping kitchen that has been up in the garage for 6 months! DH wants to fill our new car with our camping stuff to see if I can sell the roof box!

carrie74 · 07/10/2018 14:34

Had to take DD to school for play rehearsals while DH tried (unsuccessfully) to get Glasto tix. Then saw Harry Hill live in Bath, he was brilliant!

Just booked my Xmas food delivery slot at Waitrose (weeps), and now chilling on MN. DH gone for a bike ride, then he's going to collect DD and I'm going on a walk with friends. Finish the day with family all together and a roast I think.

TheCircleFan75 · 07/10/2018 14:37

Cooking AGAIN !!
Cooked huge dinner on Friday night for DP & DSS , 3 x different sittings of cooked breakfast yesterday, lunch & huge dinner last night. Roast today done & eaten. They all left as soon as the last mouthful had been shovelled. 2 dishwasher loads later.

Now sat on the sofa with a tequila & grapefruit juice (the only alcohol in the house) & not planning on going anywhere for the rest of the day except for a top up 🍸

Justanotheruser01 · 07/10/2018 14:42

Just made a Christmas cake, the kitchen was destroyed :-)
Now when husband drags himself from working (he's one of them lucky ones who classes his job a hobby!!) I'm being taken for coffee and cake

DonnaDarko · 07/10/2018 14:48

Ordered our new carpets
Pub lunch
Clothes shopping for DS as he is growing out of everything!
DS is now napping and I'm tidying up the carnage from this morning!
The plan later is to batch cook for the week (veggie pasta bake and a chicken casserole), general house and life admin, and chill with Doctor Who later!

PurpleMac · 07/10/2018 14:52

Took Ds(2) and DSS(9) swimming this morning, then DSS and I watched some Greys Anatomy whilst DS napped. DH played some football then picked MIL up, she's now here for the afternoon. I'm cooking a lovely pork roast, although currently laying on the bed waiting for the viakal to soak onto the bath so I can scrub it off. DH entertaining the kids downstairs - no idea what they are doing but lots of laughter from him, them and MIL so everyone is happy!

Oddcat · 07/10/2018 14:52

I'm sitting in my knickers and a t shirt covered in glitter ! In my infinite wisdom I thought I'd up cycle ruin a perfectly good mirror by gluing glitter to the frame . It is absolutely everywhere .

RoseyOldCrow · 07/10/2018 14:53

Ooh Billywig great to know that you enjoyed the Giants so much; took DH & DD to the station at 8am so that they could spend the day there, guess they're going to be happy, shattered (& probably hungry for their Northern tea) when I pick them up again in a few hours.
I went to Church this morning, had a very peaceful Communion service & blessing there, and have done some baking. Usual prep-for-Monday stuff soon.
Enjoy the last 20% of the weekend, all.

drspouse · 07/10/2018 14:53

We all had a lie in after a late night last night (went for a lovely outing with the DCs though).
Then went to church to be told DS can't come again.
Took DD to the park to calm down.
DH has taken the DCs to a social event for the school holiday/after school club, I'm just watching a bit of TV and I'm going to do some sewing.
DH said "I don't want you to stay home and be sad" but I told him that's what I want (or at least to sulk).

FrangipaniBlue · 07/10/2018 14:53

DH is downstairs asleep on the sofa watching tv

DS is on his Xbox probably playing fortnite and losing brain cells by the second

I'm lying in the bath with a lush bath bomb and refusing to move because this morning I ran a half marathon!

If DH truly loves me he'll wake his arse up and bring me a gin treat me to a pizza takeaway or meal out tonight Grin

bluenose1986 · 07/10/2018 15:15

We have been to watch the giants in Liverpool wake up and take a stroll down the strand. It was amazing both kids loved it, brilliant atmosphere and a great day out for all of us.
Home now for homework, uniforms ironed and lunches made for tomorrow. Chicken curry for tea too much work making a roast at this time.
