What do you spend your Tesco Clubcard points on?

I've collected the points out of habit. But here I am with points to spend and it seems like over the years the rewards partners have dwindled.

Nobody in the house really reads the magazines on subscription. None of the days out are appealing. I don't want a gym subscription or Denby pottery.

A meal deal. I'm not loyal to anywhere and £3 is the maximum I get each time

MrsJBaptiste · 06/10/2018 17:16

Pizza Express - nobody goes in there and pays the full price! 🍕

burnoutbabe · 06/10/2018 17:17

Uber is the best value for us. May as well get 3 times value

Train tickets, although this will stop at end January. Red spotted hanky hide the cheap trains so will never use them otherwise. You have to fart about with split ticketing to get value with them.

Tweeted, got helped once but then ignored.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 06/10/2018 17:29

Prezzo and/or Pizza Express vouchers. Yum!

everycowandagain · 06/10/2018 17:30

Zoo tickets, or I do a big online shop which I have delivered to the local foodbank.

Resurgam2016 · 06/10/2018 17:32

I discovered that the Legoland deal was much worse than before. Tickets not available for a weekday/ non holiday day and a v complex process to buy.

On another note I really can't find anything to spend my £60 of Nectar points on. Any ideas?

anewyear · 06/10/2018 17:35

I save mine all year to use at Xmas, for food, presents etc

mittensofsteel · 06/10/2018 17:45

Sorry to derail the thread but i have a question about points.

I’ve been shopping on the Tesco app for 3 years spending between £40-£120 a week. I collect points on my club card but have never used them.

Does that mean that I still have them all in an account somewhere or do they expire annually or something.

Gah. Because I’ve only got the app I’ve never investigated it and this thread has made me realise they’re actually a thing and a good thing too!

Livedandlearned2 · 06/10/2018 18:12

They expire after three years so be quick!!

Sahara123 · 06/10/2018 18:47

Gatwick airport parking in the summer - collected car & dropped it back to us, fantastic & “free “!
Under 25 railcard for daughter
Empire magazine subscriptions
Entirely free expensive train to London
That’s just this year ( I clearly spend too much money on food..)

BlackStar7 · 06/10/2018 21:35

Eurotunnel when we drove to Center Parcs in Holland. Can also use them on ferries to France too.

Prezzo and Bella Italia.

Moononthehill28 · 06/10/2018 21:38

I have never understood how to find out what you can do with them I have always used the vouchers at the checkout.

rookiemere · 06/10/2018 21:39

Just used mine to book tickets for Blenheim palace and saved £90 on the cost of our half term cottage.

I know that the exchange is not as good as it used to be , but still great to get a "free" meal at Pizza express.

In the past I used them for surfing at Cornwall, tickets to Alton Towers and randomly laser treatments.

tinytemper66 · 06/10/2018 21:42

I had £120 off a Eurotunnel trip!

ScarletAnemone · 06/10/2018 21:46

VeryFoolishFay · 06/10/2018 21:52

Entire return Eurotunnel crossing for our family holiday this summer.

BrokenWing · 06/10/2018 21:54

Recently just cinema tickets but that's stopping for odeon next month 🤬. I've got £219 an no idea what to spend them on. Will need to think of something soon as some expire in November.

Days out available are crap in Scotland.

They really are nothing compared to what they used to be.

Polkadotdelight · 06/10/2018 21:55

Butlins!

GiantKitten · 06/10/2018 21:55

We only get about £3 most quarters these days (shop at Aldi & Lidl mostly)

But before the older ones expired recently I got a RHS membership (yes, I am that old Grin)

GiantKitten · 06/10/2018 21:58

Voucher deals

secure.tesco.com/clubcard/spend-vouchers

fruitpastille · 06/10/2018 22:13

@mittensofsteel if you log in to the clubcard website (you will need your clubcard number) you did be able to see your vouchers in your account. The oldest ones will be near expiry but most of them will be fine. They are worth 3x their face value for some rewards.

We use ours for Eurotunnel and a free random days out

Ginmakesitallok · 06/10/2018 22:16

Delivery saver. Have about a year worth of free delivery.

makingmiracles · 06/10/2018 22:16

We’ve done diggerland, zoo, pizza express(the crappest, most overpriced meal we’ve ever Eaten out!) cafe rouge and Longleat (which would have cost almost £200 in actual money.)
Use different to save for toy boosts, until they stopped doing that.

BellMcEnd · 06/10/2018 22:23

Really really miss the Christmas points boost - I used to do pretty much all the DCs presents with that after saving my points each year Sad

Generally now save them for Pizza Express although love what a PP does and saves them to do a good bank shop at Christmas. That’s just lovely Smile
