Need something with support and preferably a sole so I can take the rubbish out in them....

Fitflop slippers and I see Birkenstock do slippers too. I have my eye on some hot pink ones.

I have had a few pairs of Fitflop ones and they are good. Very supportive.

Miladymilord · 01/10/2018 08:45

I wear birkenstocks - with socks! - around the house. Or crocs are brilliant if fugly

Crocs not pretty, but comfy and hard wearing.

Sitranced · 01/10/2018 08:52

Birkies or crocs

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/10/2018 08:53

Crocs (recommended by my podiatrist)

Candymay · 01/10/2018 23:58

I have plantar fasciitis too. It’s so painful. I’m just getting an episode now. I also need to buy some indoor shoes for support. Sorry no advice but I’ll be looking out for recommendations on your thread!

converseandjeans · 02/10/2018 00:13

Crocs

SeaToSki · 02/10/2018 00:18

Orthoheel by vionic. Amazing wont wear anything else at all now.

Lonecatwithkitten · 02/10/2018 02:41

My orthoticist said absolutely no to slippers and ascis trainers all the time. I thought I had plantar fasciitis, but in fact it was a collapsed arch.

Lonecatwithkitten · 02/10/2018 02:42

Oh he basically said crocs were the work of the devil. My feet have been so much better since I started wearing ASICS and I haven't got the orthotic yet, I am mostly pain free.

maskingtape · 02/10/2018 04:42

Slippers aren't advisable for plantar. You need proper shoes or trainers with insoles.

Miladymilord · 02/10/2018 06:36

Asics trainers hurt my foot so badly! Shame as they were expensive. They are all different so maybe he meant a particular style. Crocs were recommended by mine and they are super comfy but I onky wear them at home because fugly

Lonecatwithkitten · 02/10/2018 07:07

@Miladymilord I was was warned ASICS would hurt initially as the grasp the foot and hold it in the correct position, but you have wear through that initial discomfort where the foot is held in the correct position.

Miladymilord · 02/10/2018 07:13

Which style do you have? I have a cheapish pair (there are hundreds!)

Miladymilord · 02/10/2018 07:13

Cheapish for asics I mean! They were about 70 iirc!!

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 02/10/2018 07:16

After having PF for 2 years and trying everything, I got Skechers memory foam trainers and I wear them in the house and everywhere, as far as I can. They are more comfortable then slippers anyway, and the PF after only a month is down to just a minor twinge in the morning when I first get up.

I have been wearing Fitflop trainers for 2 years, comfy, but not a miracle worker unlike the Skechers. Also had the special insoles for slippers, Vionics and about 20 other different types of widget from Amazon. If only I'd used the Skechers first!

Chanandler · 02/10/2018 07:16

I agree with Orthaheel by vionics - they are designed by a podiatrist for exactly this!

Meet0nTheIedge · 02/10/2018 07:16

I wear Moshulu boot slippers with a pair of Boots orthotics inside them. They are a pretty snug fit, rubber soled and don't move much on my feet. My podiatrist warned me to avoid Skechers and Crocs, I already had crocs and they really do aggravate it.

Miladymilord · 02/10/2018 07:18

Do you wear the vionics insoles or the actual shoes

I must say since being religious about transferring insoles from shoe to shoe it has improved.

My big issue is wellies Sad I have a horse and need waterproof boots but my (very expensive) wellies are seriously agonising even with insoles in. Desperately need to find an alternative before winter hits!!

hugoagogo · 02/10/2018 07:20

Never heard of of an orthoticist?
My podiatrist understands that I can't wear supportive boots or trainers every waking hour.
Crocs give some support and cushioning.

Cupoteap · 02/10/2018 07:26

I've got some trainers for this and for long sessions of standing is xmas dinner.

EvilRingahBitch · 02/10/2018 07:29

Totes slippers are good for the maintenance phase - maybe not good enough during an actual flare up. ASICS gel odyssey walking shoes are the dogs bollocks for PF.

ChishandFips33 · 02/10/2018 07:34

Crocs here too - a pair at the door for popping to the bin etc and the indoor ones

M&S did a cosy ugg boot type slipper years ago with arch support. So comfortable but got very smelly very quickly and didn't wash well!

Peridot1 · 02/10/2018 07:38

@PeridotCracker back at ya! Love Peridots.
