Londoners/anyone - help! How feasible and easy is it to walk between the British Library

For reasons not really understood by me I have been landed with running a school trip to London. They will be visiting the British Library and need somewhere to go reasonably nearby where they can have free time and 'a sense of London'. Covent Garden has been suggested as being a 20 minute walk away, but I can't work out whether it's an easy 20 minutes or endless twists and turns.

If anyone can help I'll be eternally grateful.

I used to love going to Camden...is it worth going on a weekday though?

If you walk straight down Judd Street towards Russell Sq there are some reasonable eateries such as the king of falafel which is great and do wraps etc. You also go past Brunswick Centre with a few places to eat and a Waitrose to pick up sarnies or salad. Depends what the kids want to see during their time off really. Walking along the canal from Granary Sq to Camden is also fun.
P.s. I work at the BL

Camden is an easy enough walk straight down Eversholt Street. It would be about half an hour although 40 to get to the market. It would be busy and fun for teenagers if you have a couple of hours. It would be 15 minutes to get on the bus.

If they haven’t been to London before it would be good fun for them to ride a London bus to Camden.

But the canal path would be nicer Grin

This page (map at bottom) shows the bit of the tow path that is closed. Last time I checked you could actually get up the steps from the path at Kentish Town Road and then walk along Hawley Crescent. I can swing by that way and check if thats still the case.

True, a double decker would be fun and they could get the 168 from Euston which is the Boris model with the rear platform which is a novelty.

Canal one way, bus the other Grin

Brit library to cov garden half an hour could make interesting walk thru Bloomsbury and the west end if the children are bright and engaged, Given children not used to actually walking these days Brit mus to cov garden prob better.
