I would love to take my kind, kind dh to a really good restaurant with rooms or hotel with fine dining in Northumberland for his birthday. It was one of his favourite parts of the world when he was too young and poor for posh eating and he is a real foodie.

Can anyone recommend something really special? He deserves it. Thank you .

Probably should have RTFT... 🙄

I know it comes down to personal preference but we didn't rate the Raby Hunt when we visited. We felt it was more style over substance. House of Tides on Newcastle's Quayside was way better in terms of food, drinks and service

We live in Durham and regularly make pub and food weekend breaks to Northumberland. It’s truly fabulous!
Hope you have a wonderful time

I don’t think this will be our last visit. It sounds heaven for foodies. Thanks again everyone for suggestions.

Although I commented earlier on Otterburn my my recommendations would be :
Caster seafood restaurant- absolutely gorgeous,
Bistro 23 at alnmouth - beautiful
Running fox, Felton- the best afternoon tea you would ever experience
LAL khazana - Shilbottle, fabulous Indian
The dirty bottles - Alnwick, proper good grub with chunky chips if desired.....
Just a few but I hope these help x
