Three must haves inside.
Three must haves outside.

Inside
Upstairs laundry room.
My own bathroom which nobody else even knows exists.
An indoor swimming pool (a lap pool, a hydro pool and a jacuzzi).

Outdoor
An amazing playground for the kids (a la Lowther castle).
Be on a sandy coast.
A really long tree lined driveway.

Anywaaaayyyyy......

A bedroom to myself (I love DH but I yearn for privacy and space) with a wood burner/open fire

Loads of land - the house can be titchy but I want to walk for an hour and still be on my own land.

DancingDot · 26/09/2018 09:28

Inside: light, airy big kitchen for enacting idyllic scenes of baking, brunch etc.
Playroom with low shelving for toys and books, beautiful murals and hangings and doors opening out onto the garden.
A library with floor to ceiling bookcases, sliding ladders, an open fire and cosy seating.

Outside: a vegetable and flower garden full of different food and flowers to pick in all seasons.
A natural play area with things to climb, build with, slide down, dig etc, with nice seating so I can supervise in comfort.
A heated swimming pool.

All of the above will be self cleaning and self maintaining so we have time to enjoy our Instagram-worthy lifestyle.

Visitors loo.
A two story library with wheeled ladders, a big fire place and wing chairs.

stegosauruslady · 26/09/2018 10:22

Inside...

Five bedrooms.
Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs.
A massive kitchen/diner. Massive

Outside...

Garage.
Massive garden. I love gardening.
Beautiful summer house.

Lazybonita · 26/09/2018 10:22

My perfect house must be large, detached and light filled. It must also be beautiful and have character.

Inside
A large utility boot room big enough for all of our shoes/boots, outdoor clothes, utilities and to house our dogs.
A large master bedroom with ensuite.
A large beautiful kitchen with range and French doors to garden.

Outside
A beautiful private garden with a pool.
Long private drive and plentiful parking.
A few acres of parkland.

We do not have this but we are slowly trying to create it. We will never have the long drive but we do have a garden with potential and a few muddy acres, and I do now have my dream farmhouse kitchen...and one day when our ship comes in I will get a big bedroom and my much dreamed of ensuite 🤞🍀

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 26/09/2018 10:23

Inside:

Four large bedrooms with built in American style closets
A large pantry
Underfloor heating

Outside:
A large-ish patio area with space for a large table and chairs and outdoor sofa
A nice sized lawn surrounded by hardy plants that require no gardening!
Self-sustaining kitchen garden

alwaysiero · 26/09/2018 10:36

I saw a program where a house in the US had a hoover system built into their floorboards....with six dogs that would be the dream.
Very lucky that I love our house, detached, quite village, woodland views, large drive, big country kitchen diner, south facing garden, boot room, orchard. If I was wishing for things it would be a walled garden, Victorian green house, slate floor throughout, small library and a couple more bedrooms.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 26/09/2018 10:41

Inside:
Separate rooms for the rabbits and the guineas, with tunnels to outside pens.
Washing room for the animals, with door to the garden and attached shower room, so one can come in from the garden straight into a shower without spreading mud around.
Upstairs circular library with staircase hidden behind a secret door.

Outside:
Pens for all the animals
Enough sheds, greenhouses and polytunnels
Large fish pond

Three ensuite bedrooms with electric showers and large walk in wardrobes.

A study for serious things

A work room for sewing and hobbies.

A laundry room with drying and ironing facilities - upstairs or downstairs, I'm not fussy.

A big bathroom, in case anyone needs a bath instead of a shower.

A utility room with a sluice or mud area for muddy shoes and boots.
The sink should be relatively low with an easy to clean filter over the drain and a hinged 'gate' over the sink for buckets.

The utility should also hold all the cleaning utensils, cleaning products and the vacuum cleaner and carpet cleaner.

A big downstairs wardrobe/built in wardrobe for coats - a cloakroom without the toilet.

A downstairs toilet with a full size basin.

A kitchen dining area - can't stand islands.

A living/sitting room for TV, music and play.

The living room must have a big table of adjustable height for card an board games or jigsaws and a stack of chairs for the players.

InterstellarSleepingElla · 26/09/2018 10:53

Inside:

8 Bedrooms all with ensuite and walk in closets 1 each for all four of us, 2 that can be used for as office/study for me and DH, two guest rooms.

Massive white kitchen, large enough for an island that we can all sit at to eat and I can cook at in marble (kitchen must also have a fully equipped utility room off it!)

A fully equipped gym with weights and cardio equipment

Outside:

A heated pool in a large glass building with retractable roof for those rare hot, sunny days!

Massive garden with play things for the kids (trampolines, climbing frames, slides, treehouse, play house etc) and a smooth paved area for roller skating!

Probably a veg patch for DH and maybe a chicken coop type set up.

I've not thought about this much.....

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 26/09/2018 10:53

Sorry,

Front outside - a front garden for bins, off street parking for two cars and a few plants.

Rear outside - small courtyard garden with raised beds and a small patio area.

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 26/09/2018 14:33

And a small, soundproof music room so anyone who wants to practice doesn't upset the neighbours.

midsomermurderess · 26/09/2018 14:42

A pool. A 25m pool, all for me.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/09/2018 16:11

3 inside and 3 outside ideas for the absolute dream house.

Inside
A gentle slope would lead down to an outside drying area which gives access to the big basement where all the utility needs and storage are housed
An orangery type room off the family-dining kitchen, it would connect up with the loggia, see below
Sizeable rectangular swimming pool, one for doing lengths in, with big doors opening to the outdoor terrace and a retractable roof.

Pretty, far reaching views, to include our own lake, which has an island in the middle.
A big balcony off the master suite, this would have a loggia area underneath and stairs down to garden level.
Walled garden with fruit and vegetables, flowers for cutting, topiary and a traditional glass house with a nice bench outside. It would be my escape.
