If you're around 5ft1 where do you buy your jeans?

Looking for recommendations please, somewhere reasonably priced. I like Dorothy Perkins petite range but struggle to find anything elsewhere.

I got some decent ones in Wallis recently, I think they have a girl's name, something like Harley or Hayley. They're deceptively short i.e they're shaped well so they don't look as stumpy as lots of petite jeans.

dontcallmelen · 25/09/2018 17:06

Another vote for Topshop Jamie jeans, river island are not bad & I get M&S jeggings in the extra short, next petite are always to long.
I’m 4ft 10 I also buy kids jeans sometimes, peacocks children’s skinny jeans are surprisingly good & about £9.00.

I'm about 5'2 and I buy mine from Joules. I have to fold the ends up a bit....I could shorten them if I could be bothered but I'm lazy!

I buy them from a Levi's store, they shorten them for free usually within about 48 hours.

LtJudyHopps · 25/09/2018 19:14

River island do some Molly jeans in extra short which I think are 28”

Lunaballoon · 25/09/2018 19:17

Gap ankle length mostly. 5’1” here.

AlwaysFuckingTired · 25/09/2018 19:23

Tried Asos for the first time and was really unimpressed with the sizing and quality when my order turned up this morning.

@xJune88 I didn't know Primark did a 28" leg! Are they labeled as petite/short range?

I'm 5'2 and really struggle with jeans shopping.
Dorothy Perkins, next or New Look are my go to. Recently bought a few pairs of the dahlia jeans from new look, they were so good I got them in several colours! I got the 30leg rather than petite section but they are THE best jeans I've bought in a long time.

Fatted · 25/09/2018 19:51

I get all my trousers and jeans from Next petite. Usually the skinny ones are fine and don't need taken up. Their wide leg or bootcut trousers usually have to be worn with a heel (which I'm fine with, but understand some might not want that!)

Methe · 25/09/2018 19:53

Although I’m 5’4” I’ve only got little legs and tend to buy my trousers from new look. I’ve also learned how to take up trousers without it showing so do that a lot as well.

DoubleHelix79 · 25/09/2018 19:59

5 ft 2 and site 8 here,. Gap jeans fits me great.

gobbin · 25/09/2018 20:11

5’ 1” here and my jeans are a mixture of Matalan and Primark.

MsSquiz · 25/09/2018 20:12

Mine are all New Look or Dorothy Perkins

ladymarian · 25/09/2018 20:22

I am 5 foot and really like M&S jeggings. Perfect length for me and really comfy

AlwaysFuckingTired · 25/09/2018 20:22

@gobbin How would you rate the quality in Primark?

OP posts:
Susiesoap7 · 25/09/2018 20:26

Plain ordinary straight leg jeans, I've had to buy from Bon marche! They have three leg lengths only £18! I'm 5 2

foxycleopauper · 25/09/2018 20:26

Always Topshop.

gobbin · 25/09/2018 20:50

Always I’m still wearing two pairs I bought three years ago, although they are a bit snug now (weight gain). The Matalan ones had plenty of lycra in (and have expanded with me 😂)

tinytemper66 · 25/09/2018 21:52

I am 4 11 so not even 5ft and I manage to find trousers
Even if they are too long at times!

Oblomov18 · 25/09/2018 22:01

Watching with interest. I want proper jeans, not jeggings. Any recommendations please?

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 25/09/2018 22:05

I'm 4'11 too & used to get my jeans from Primark but the last time I looked they didn't have any, so I moved to Next petite.

Largepiecesofcrookedwood · 25/09/2018 22:35

I'm 5'2" and have no hips (well obviously I have hips or my legs would drop off) and I stick with Levi's now. Nothing else seems to have the right combination of boyish cut and correct leg length Hmm

SomethingPhishy · 25/09/2018 22:40

I'm 5ft 2" & tend to buy Tu short or M&S short (The Tu ones are my favourites, more generous cut around the thighs!)

TheNoodlesIncident · 25/09/2018 23:23

Marks & Spencer - they do a wide range of fit (I like straight rather than tight/skinny) and they have a good amount of stretch in, so they are comfortable even with my large arse and thighs.

It's difficult to recommend really as we are all different shapes, even if around the same height. I've a 27" inside leg (to ankle bone), M&S short ones fit perfectly with the hem sitting on my instep.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/09/2018 23:25

Top shop definitely. If your quite skinny then the teenage section in new look is really good too.
