The ones which mean there is no need for sanitary stuff?
Which brands are any good?cobsideting investing in a couple of pairs, but given price if they’re all crap then won’t!

Bump as interested too

Tailfeather · 21/09/2018 23:53

Yeah! I just don't understand how they work. And do you wear them all day? Could you wear light trousers with them?

Am intrigued...

But obviously can't help! Soz!

Got some for DD age 12 as she plays a lot of sport and takes ages inserting tampons still, so they suit her. Pretty impressed- she's still quite a light/ medium flow and they work perfectly well. Stay in place and wash well and no leaks. She wears them to school around the time she's due on which means she's not always worrying about starting and leaking. It says rinse them then wash so I do a 5min cold rinse in the machine, followed by a normal quick wash.

We got modibodi when they had an offer on.....

She puts a clean pair on in the morning and usually changes her pants in afternoon break (puts dirty ones in a sealed bag.). On lighter days she can last all day in the shorts and there's no smell. She says they feel dry all the time and are so much more comfy than towels-especially for a runner!

BinkyandBunty · 21/09/2018 23:59

I wear them at night and as a backup for tampons, am perimenopausal and prone to flooding. Then on their own on very light days at the end of my period.

I use Modibodi which are lovely to wear and very effective but can't stomach the idea of wearing them on their own on a normal day when they'd be quite heavy with blood.

JuniperBeer · 22/09/2018 00:09

There’s quite a few threads of these here recently.
A lot about the thinx pants as they refer to ‘people’ as having periods and there is not a mention of girls or women on their website. Not a great company!

wrenika · 22/09/2018 12:17

I use thinx and they are wonderful. But then, I support a company that considers the fact that not everyone having a period wishes to be referred to as a girl/woman. I would have thought that was there business and not worth getting het up about. I've never used any other brands yet but thinx are comfy, absorbent, don't smell and I've never had any issues with them at all. My pants are a few years old now and still going strong. I use them at night mostly and on the final day when I'm just spotting. I find them a massive relief to my skin which gets quite irritated by pads by the end of my period.

Fluffyears · 22/09/2018 12:31

I fine I can leak at night so I think these might be a good investment. Just forbthe first few nights as I can be quite heavy so they’d be a back up.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2018 12:33

Juniper Yes I noticed that too.

BinkyandBunty · 22/09/2018 12:34

The Modibodi overnights are great @Fluffyears, the absorbent part is really wide and goes right up to the waistline at the back, zero leaks for me.

Fluffyears · 22/09/2018 14:02

@binkyandbunty they sound good. Have wasted some sheets when the blood stains won’t come out so these would be worthwhile.

MorningsEleven · 22/09/2018 14:16

I was looking at an advert for I think modibodi yesterday. It does look like a genius idea if it works. But hugely expensive.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 22/09/2018 14:22

Ah yes, Thinx who clearly have no mention of women and girls on their website. Except when they do.

I like Thinx (larger woman with very light periods, they have good size options) and appreciate the inclusive language too.

Only women and girls have periods, so what's the problem?

Theres no such thing as having a period unless you are a woman or girl, what nonsense is this?

Smotheroffive · 17/04/2019 01:25

Someone hasn't had biology lessons.

I have studied science, and its fundamental biology.

What else is there other than a woman or a girl...men...but they don't have periods, and clearly sanpro are purely for those having periods.

Is this a joke?

managedmis · 17/04/2019 01:26

Does anyone have a link? I've never heard of these

SpaceCadet4000 · 17/04/2019 02:38

I travel quite a lot and use them for long haul if I'm due on. So much easier than faffing around with my menstrual cup, and they don't bunch up if I'm shuffling round in a plane seat like my reusable pads.

Very much appreciate Thinx and their non-gendered language.

SpaceCadet4000 · 17/04/2019 02:44

Smotheroffive speaking biologically, at the very least, intersex people. Humans with two X chromosomes and the ability to ovulate menstruate. The labels we put on top of our observations of biological processes are constructs. You haven't learned much science if you don't understand that.

Coyoacan · 17/04/2019 03:47

Intersex people are still male and female and do not require such delicacy of language.

Waffles80 · 17/04/2019 03:53

Do you speak for all intersex people @coyoacan? When were you voted spokesperson?

ApplestheHare · 17/04/2019 03:54

I'm sure modibodi are starting half these threads as there seem to have been loads about period pants recently. They seem to have a big advertising push on atm.

TheKrakening3 · 17/04/2019 04:00

I use Modibodi and they are great. I stopped buying Thinx when they erased the word woman and jumped on the TRA bandwagon.

edgeofheaven · 17/04/2019 04:13

The website for Thinx is shethinx.com so while it is trying to use neutral language there seems to be a pretty clear acknowledgement that menstruation is a women's issue.

PickleFish · 17/04/2019 08:32

modibodi seem to only have bikini style ones when I looked. I want ones that are more brief-shaped (higher waistband - midi?)

I can't see how any of them can be more than a back-up to normal protection, and that kind of defeats the purpose to me, though I'd be interested in trying for lighter days. They also never mention what happens with clots.
