Does anyone here want to watch Eugenie's wedding on tv?

So the BBC don't want the costs of showing it because they think it'll be a ratings flop. I can kind of see where they're coming from. I'm only a little bit interested. I'd like to see what her & her sister wear & maybe see a few guests but that's it. Anyone else?

WTF is this a thing now? Some channel broadcasts a woman must vulnerable moment?

jesus fuck tv.

shamanga · 16/09/2018 19:57

I didn't watch H&M's wedding, but I'd be more likely to watch this one for the cringe factor.

SuperstarDJ · 16/09/2018 19:57

No.

Would love to know if Eugenie actually wants it televised or if this is solely her father’s doing.

wurzelburga · 16/09/2018 19:58

Is George Clooney going?

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 16/09/2018 20:00

No, unfortunately the date clashes with some paint I’m looking forward to watching dry.

MrsGrindah · 16/09/2018 20:00

A woman’s most vulnerable moment? What is she having a Brazilian during the ceremony?!

EdithWeston · 16/09/2018 20:06

Prince Edward's wedding was televised.

He was 7th in line to the throne at the time, and child of the monarch.

She"s 8th or 9th, and grandchild of the monarch.

Zara Phillips is also grandchild of monarch, but was 12th in line.

Yes, there has to be a cut off. Audience ratings is a bit brutal, and whether child or grandchild doesn't reflect level of likely interest. So should be by place in line of succession (cut off at about 6, like the Act)? That's for the Beeb, as it's publicly funded. Other channels might choose to cover if they they thought they would get enough revenue to cover the costs.

fieryginger · 16/09/2018 20:08

No. I wasn't interested in Harry's either.

MorningsEleven · 16/09/2018 20:10

A woman’s most vulnerable moment?

Maybe she's gonna give birth live during the ceremony and Harry Potter will fly in on his broomstick to catch the new HRH as it comes flying out of her fanjo ALL ON TV.

Then Fergie will suck Andy's toes and they'll have a vow renewal while Eugenie is getting stitched up.

ManicUnicorn · 16/09/2018 20:10

Her father is totally deluded. No one is interested and she is only a very minor royal anyway.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 16/09/2018 20:12

Nope, I can't remember watching any Royal weddings, I'm not interested in the leaches.

Kintan · 16/09/2018 20:15

Ha! No way would I watch that. I can’t believe that the York’s are so deluded that they think there is a public demand to watch it! The York girls are not even ‘working royals’ so there is no reason for this over the top spectacle to even be on the radar of the British (or any) public..

redexpat · 16/09/2018 20:17

Ooh I would. I love a wedding.

StrangeLookingParasite · 16/09/2018 20:19

Not remotely interested, and I think she is deluded if she thinks people are.

Redglitter · 16/09/2018 20:20

Some channel broadcasts a woman must vulnerable moment

How on earth is it her most vulnerable moment

Dishtap · 16/09/2018 20:23

No, I have zero interest in strangers weddings!

SymphonyofShadows · 16/09/2018 20:35

I'm glad the BBC aren't wasting even more public money on it. Her father has demanded that far too much is squandered already.

QueenDoria · 16/09/2018 20:40

Prince Andrew's POV: she IS a princess.
The rest of the country's POV: we're going to hell in a post-Brexit handbag and we would have had a revolution but (Wills and) Harry are kind of cute so we'll keep them. But maybe not the rest of you.
I'm sure a Princess Eugh is a lovely girl and, like any other bride, o wish her well but, like any other bride, I don't really want to pay out for it. Whether that's in an overly long hen do in Marbella (with every other female in the office) or in tax payers money and/or licence fee, I'm just not that into it.

figelnarage · 16/09/2018 20:53

Big fat nope

Jb291 · 16/09/2018 21:02

Nope. At work on that day and have zero interest in watching.

BalloonSlayer · 16/09/2018 21:46

Would probably tune in if it was being broadcast but would not 'demand' to see it if not. She seems like a nice girl, and if Prince Andrew, whose wedding was a massive televised spectacle, thinks his darling daughter's wedding should be just as fabulous then yes maybe he is a bit deluded but in a rather sweet way. Apparently the Queen was at a loss to understand why Princess Margaret was not mourned by the nation with the same intensity they had shown for Diana. Obvious to us - the nation! - but not to those who Iove them. Bless.

Some of the comments on here are taking shitty put-downs into the realms of the absurd. I noticed upthread: "I'd rather pull my eyes out." What really? You'd perform an agonising and disabling form of self mutilation on yourself rather than watch a nice girl get married surrounded by her loving family and friends on telly? Well ok then . . . Hmm

LittleBearPad · 16/09/2018 21:51

The one thing the Daily Fail is for, is for wall to wall pictures of such events and what people are wearing. No need for it to be on TV.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2018 21:55

Yes I do. Love royal weddings.

Hate real life ones.
