Since turning fifty I've been bombarded with junk mail offering me swanky retirement homes, cheap life cover or crappy walking holidays with other "old people"
I work full time and have 5 kids one only 7 and so school, ballet, gym runs. Surely these days with longer life expectancy and people working into their 60s and 70s these company's need to rethink their target audience.
I don't know anyone my age who is ready for the knackers yard just yet Wink

The advertisers seem to lump 50-80 year olds together it’s utterly ridiculous, they really need to re think their target market. I wonder if Kylie now she has turned 50 is bombarded with adverts for stair lifts and easy access baths!

MNHQ are guilty of this. They created the gruesome Gransnet specifically for over 50s. Plus they occasionally run surveys on Mumsnet asking if we've planned our funerals yet and other such cheery subjects.

I got all that when I reached fifty too, everyone does. Not a big deal really, can go in the bin. Might be useful one day though!

CrispbuttyNo1 65 is not old!

scaryteacher after redundancy I started a new full time job at age 64 (admittedly not teaching), no mention was made of my age at all.
