Hilariously "age-inappropriate" children's presents...

So...

My MIL got my son this lovely card (pictured) to wish him well on his birthday.

He's 2.

Oh how me and DH laughed 😂 This got me thinking about my own childhood and it reminded me of when, back in the 90's, my own dear nanna went to get my weekly issue of - geek alert - Find out More magazine (where you basically collected pages of an encyclopedia in installments) as my mum was ill, and ended up with the wrong one. Reading all about More's "position of the fortnight" was very illuminating for an eight year old...

I am curious as to whether anyone else on here has received/accidentally given as a present something more than a little "age inappropriate"!

”SDTG Please say that none of you live in Cornwall, because that would be even funnier.”

In fairness, @UselessTrees, FIL/grandad does live in Cornwall - but we live in Scotland, so I am not sure why he thought these books would be of interest to dh and ds3. He sends dh and the dses book tokens now - I get jewellery - which I think is chosen by his lady friend, as I suspect he is not experienced at choosing jewellery.

My dh (then just early stage boyfriend) got a little Baileys gift set for my mum when he visited Christmas day. He hadnt seen the "For Lovers" bit written under Baileys Grin he was mortified!

My DM came to my cousins baby welcome/shower thing and brought out a paper bag with an extremely graphic, well oiled, hard, veiny penis printed on it.
Inside was a pair of edible, sweetie string pants.

Apparently, she didn’t know what to buy so went into the ‘new shop for young girls’ (Anne Summers) and mixed up baby shower with hen night.

DM can be a bit of a sod but I’ll always love her for that mix up.

Mil bought my eldest a paper shredder when he was 3. Thought he'd find it fun. (We gave it back)

Our grandma had a habit of getting gifts from charity shops.
One year she bought what I'm assuming she thought was a Beano annual type thing. What my 7 year old brother received was 'The Big Pink Stiff One' Viz annual that must've been about 10 years old!
