Any magical MN cures for nappy rash?

Weaning DD2 has caused diarrhoea and horrendous nappy rash, looks exactly the same as DS2 who has food allergies so I suspect we’re going to have another allergic baby oh joy

Anyway I cannot clear her nappy rash and it just keeps getting worse, it’s now bleeding when I clean her

Any magical MN tips that I wouldn’t ever have dreamed of?

Just to add to this thread to be aware of the possibility of allergy to ingredients in nappy creams too! DS1 never really got nappy rash so we didn't tend to use nappy cream on him. But when he was about 5 months he had a bit of diarrhoea with teething and had a very slightly red bum so I put some sudocrem on, next nappy change it looked a bit worse so I put more sudocrem on, it got worse and worse over about a week until I realised it looked better in the mornings after less nappy changes and that it looked, worse as the day went on - realised he was allergic to sudocrem and stopped using any nappy cream and it cleared up completely within a couple of days Blush

Metanium worked for DC1, but not for DC2. DC magic cream was ABC nappy cream from Arbonne (yes yes I know, MLM, but it really worked.) I've also heard of egg white and breast milk working on other babies. I hope you can get it sorted OP, it's horrible isn't it?

Metanium - thin layer! I thought a good thick one would work faster, it doesn't!
Dry bum time. Stick them in the bath or lay a large towel down.

I just wanted to pop back on and say thank you all soooooo much

I used a combination of the magic yellow cream and Vaseline and DDs bum is ... healed!! Already!!! Shock
It’s still slightly pink but on Monday morning the whole nappy area from front to back was cracked, blistered, bleeding, weeping and looked like burns - I can not believe how fast and how well this has worked
They should rename it to miracle cream

So from me and my DD thank you all SmileFlowers

Hurrah for metanium - I love that stuff so much that I stock up on it when I'm back in the UK and my babies are now 7 and 4 years old.

I give unopened tubes to friends with new babies with the grave message that when the baby gets their first teething rash or first dose of stomach flu, they will not know what they did without this stuff - about 6 months down the line, I get a heartfelt thank you.

Friends of mine's 2 year old was in hospital with Gastroenteritis - she put out a plea on our whatsapp group about some magic cream she'd heard about. I dropped over a tube of yellow metanium. A week later they sent a thank you bottle of wine.

That's how good it is Smile Tell EVERYONE!

Haggisfish · 05/09/2018 20:49

I also use it on adults and bigger children if they have diarrhoea! Grin

EleanorLavish · 05/09/2018 20:54

Just don’t forget to tell them to remove with oil, not water or wipes!
So glad to hear it has worked, OP.

That's fantastic! It's so horrible to see them in pain.
