I am 40 and have recently noticed I take a lot longer to heal. Just small cuts etc are more likely to take ages and to scar. Moan

As Red from oitnb says...

My leg hair grows in patchier
My skin is softer
I don't give as many fucks
...although that's not really true. I give many fucks.

Seniorschoolmum · 28/08/2018 14:35

Chin hair.

The aching & tiredness started at about 48 but disappeared when I took up karate - all the stretching & core work helps I think.

I've almost reached the point of not giving a fuck. 49 next month and I reckon by 50 I'll be there. Will it be liberating or depressing?

ProseccoThyme · 28/08/2018 14:50

Forgot the bladder! I wake up desperate for a wee; in the part I could hold it for ages

Underhisi · 28/08/2018 14:53

Greying disappearing eyebrows and eyelashes.
On the plus side going through the menopause so far has been easier than I expected.

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 28/08/2018 14:55

ProseccoThyme - I am 42 and currently have a rotator cuff injury and have been in pain for the last 5 months but I had no idea that it was a common injury in older females!

If I have been sat down for a while the cracking noise from my knees or ankles when I get up is quite loud.

Terrible insomnia, can often be awake at 2am and horrendously tired in the morning.

Increasing wind Blush

If walking for more than an hour I get a terrible ache in my lower back - I have a long maternal family history of back problems relating to osteoporosis/osteoarthritis so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Heavy periods on shorter cycle with horrendous hormonal headaches.

Eyelids drooping which results in eyeliner unexpectedly appearing on my brow bone.

Not got grey hair yet but I am discovering more frequent solitary coarse wiggly white hairs or odd strands of hair that have started growing brunette then turned white at the root.

Thickening waist that is hard to shift.

I'm 48 and super fit, much fitter than I was in my 20s but even so I just cant get as much done in a day.

I'm not sure if it's actual lack of energy or lack of motivation but whether it's work, house, children or hobbies I'd don't seem to be able to apply myself to getting things done like I used to.

HermioneWeasley · 28/08/2018 15:00

Everything hurts

Have been forced to take up yoga as so inflexible I couldn’t pick things up if I dropped them

Bizarrely while body is crumbling confidence has sky rocketed. Giver of zero fucks

welshmist · 28/08/2018 15:05

My physio guy is on speed dial, no point in GP they prescribe painkillers and a six month waiting list for physio on NHS list. When the rotor cuff plays up just dig out the exercises I have been given, ditto the sacro ilial back pain (three pregnancies). Seborrheic keratosis on neck and trunk.
I was fine until the menopause. Then gallstones, that bloody reflux. Palpitations. But I am still bendy.

Oblomov18 · 28/08/2018 15:36

Where's the list for 50 and 60?

Fucking depressing really.

needyourlovingtouch · 28/08/2018 15:53

@Therewere5inthebed
Less body hair sounds good to me

smoothieooo · 28/08/2018 15:55

White pubes have started to sprout
Random black chin hairs... I'm a bit worried as I had masses of peach fuzz all over my face and had it threaded but it's grown back seemingly twice as thick Hmm
I've gone very jowly... I look like Desperate Dawg some days
I'm pretty sure my hair is around 75% white and I'm developing an allergy to hair dye. Joy. I have all kinds of hair pencils and temporary sprays for the roots but have to bite the bullet every few months
On the plus side, my Give-A-Fuck-Ometer is set to low these days!

dameofdilemma · 28/08/2018 16:25

Thinning and general deterioration of skin....when you look at young women their skin almost has an inner glow (and it isn't just fake tan...).
Look at older women, even tanned, toned women - the skin just isn't as thick and smooth looking.

I wish I could go back in time and shout at my 20 yr old self to get your legs out more!

WraithBabe · 28/08/2018 16:34

Random Dennis Healey-style hairs in my eyebrows.

I have an inch-long hair in my eyebrow that I have to pluck out every month. I've christened it 'the Healey'.

PlatypusPie · 28/08/2018 16:38

My beautiful eyebrows becoming both sparse and coarse.

iklboo · 28/08/2018 16:41

Maddeningly itchy foof. Usually starts in bloody public as well.

Toyboysrus · 28/08/2018 16:45

When i look in the mirror I see my mother looking back at me!

Yes yes to aching all over, middle age spread, white eyebrow hairs. And whats with the skin tags? Where are they all coming from?

SentToTheSynByn · 28/08/2018 16:49

I've lost my eyebrows, pubes and 2'' off my height.

I've gained a spare tyre that won't shift despite losing a stone. I fart a little when I get out of bed.

I have jowls Sad

DustyMaiden · 28/08/2018 16:55

My hair got thicker and less greasy. I’ve never had body hair. My immune system has improved immeasurably since taking B12.

All of the bodily changes happened when I had a baby at 24.
