Do you think you look good naked?

Sorry if this is a creepy question but ive had some gin and curious about how people generally feel.

I think i look good naked, but i will sometimes have a bit of a freak out where i worry that im not actually and im just over-confident....

If you stand naked in front of a mirror are you happy/satisfied with what you see?

Pretty much, yes. I have a bit of a wobbly mum tum after 2 pregnancies but breastfeeding has melted away a lot of my fat, which I only tend to carry on my tummy anyway. I'm very lucky to be an inverted triangle (broader shoulders and bigger boobs than my hips) with naturally toned arms and legs so the overall effect is good. My main issue is saggy boobs after 3 years and counting of bfing but they're not completely awful.

esk1mo · 25/08/2018 12:57

thank you postino thats very kind. its great isn’t it!

Crunchymum · 25/08/2018 13:07

Am at my heaviest ever (I'm 2 stone heavier than I was 3 days post partum and the baby is now 7 months!!) To be fair I do have arthritis and have been unable to walk very far, let alone do much else in terms of exercise for the past 3 months! I've got into a cycle of comfort eating and it's all spiralled.

Starting some medication very soon and I'm going to use that as my starting point to get healthy.

Short answer is I fucking hate myself (naked and clothed) but I hope in time to come I will be able to post a more positive answer to threads like this.

wrenika · 25/08/2018 13:18

Nope, but I don't really care and my DP doesn't seem to have any reservations about my body so I don't give it much thought. I liked myself when everything was young and pert though! But gravity is a bitch.

noeffingidea · 25/08/2018 13:36

No. I don't have a full length mirror so I'm going on what I look like in underwear when I try clothes on. I carry too much weight around my waist and also have a belly flap that hangs down (though it's getting smaller).
I've had 3 pregnancies, but it's not really that that caused the damage. It's the 10 years after that I spent being obese. If I had my time back I would keep my weight strictly under control and never allow myself to go over a certain size (probably a BMI of 24) , because I will never get my body back to what is was, no matter how much weight I lose and how fit I am.
I don't have a partner (and don't want one) so I don't know how I would cope with being naked in an intimate situation. Probably not very well, I'd probably want to keep something on over my fat bits whereas I used to like being completely naked during sex.

I'll never have a career as an underwear model, totally the wrong body shape, but back in the real world of under represented diverse body types, I'm alright Smile

I'm a short, muscular pear shape. A critic would say my legs are stocky, but they have shape and are strong. They carry the rest of me through half marathons. They deserve a bit of respect.

I have small breasts and pregnancy/ breast feeding saw them grow 5 cup sizes and back twice over in less than 4 years. Not quite as full as they were, but they are still pleasantly round and facing in the right direction.

My devestation zone is my abdomen. DC1 was cruel to it. I went from a 26" inch waist to a 43" waist within 9 months, then finished off with a EMCS. The end result is a load of crimpline like over-stretched skin and overhang. Waistbands can be very unflattering across the softest parts. I wear high waist bikinis and leggings (with cropped sports tops) that contain the overhang, but some of the stretched skin is still visible above. I decided that I wasn't going to spend the next 50+ years of my life hiding it. I don't think I could be bothered with something like a tummy tuck or a draconian lifestyle to try to restore the firmer line of my 20s, so I accept it (slightly grudgingly).

My body has served me well so far. I just wish that trashy magazines and other media didn't ridicule women for their "flaws" which are just the natural progession of aging, motherhood, genetics and living.

MountainWitch · 25/08/2018 14:07

@StarfishSandwich that's lovely to hear. I similarly thought my absolutely enormous pregnancy body was pretty awesome. And it was the start of thinking of my body positively for what it could do, rather than what it looked like.

Deathraystare · 25/08/2018 14:21

Nooooooo. I have a mummy tummy (but without the benefit of having kids!). The 'girls' are big but have gone south. Arse is big but i don't care cos I can't see it!!!

tobee · 25/08/2018 14:38

No not really. I don't really look atm. But when I've lost half a stone from this weight I look again and feel better!

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/08/2018 15:21

No. Not at all.

motortroll · 25/08/2018 16:01

Not really but I think I look better bashed than with clothes as they just squeeze everything in and emphasise everything I don't need emphasise. I'm somewhat smoother naked (but still 2 stone over weight!)

Having said that my bum looks better in clothes....that's all though!

I'm also quite tanned most of the time but not on my mid section so I look a little odd!

motortroll · 25/08/2018 16:02

Naked not bashed!

Thinkingofausername1 · 25/08/2018 16:18

Kind of, considering what I've been through medically and once I get back to the gym I will feel better.

YeTalkShiteHen · 25/08/2018 16:19

No, I’m not so much apple shaped as baked potato shaped Grin

BusySittingDown · 25/08/2018 16:25

I don’t mind how I look in underwear. I’m skinny and have crepy stomach skin from when I was pregnant and my boobs are like empty socks so good underwear can hide all that.Grin

I’m pretty comfortable with how I am - it’s not the best body there is but it’s certainly not the worst!

MargaretDribble · 25/08/2018 16:28

No, but I am 66 and have had three children and have a large scar from an operation.
But DH thinks I am gorgeous.Grin

Faster · 25/08/2018 16:29

Yeah I’m alright. I’m about 5stone overweight but I’m naturally quite confident.

Coconutcake0 · 25/08/2018 16:39

I do. Not every part I like but im 43, mum to 3 and a marathon runner so in good shape.

But I haven’t the guts to wear a bikini even though DH thinks im great!

Caribbeanyesplease · 25/08/2018 16:39

It would be so interesting if these posts weee accompanied with photos.

I suspect that the photos would bear no resemblance to many of the very negative body images so many describe

Frazzledkate · 25/08/2018 17:22

Swings from yes to no. Used to be 10bstone and a size 10/12 at 5.10" in my teens and twenties. Killer body but hated my boobs (small with an inverted nipple) Hitting 40 this month and have had three kids in the last four years. Boobs much better but rest has somewhat deteriorated... Three stone heavier and not so much killer bod as kill someone with my bod! Still much more confident in my own skin now than then.

Issues with oh seeing me naked but that's cause he had a porn problem and it knocked my confidence. But otherwise, as some others have said, I think I actually look better naked with a bit of weight on me! Shame same can't be said about with clothes on Hmm

missmouse101 · 25/08/2018 17:28

Totally horrifying naked. No one sees me and I can't bear to look.

WaitingForSunday17 · 25/08/2018 17:47

I am hideous sadly. I prefer not to look in the mirror even in clothes let alone without!

AgeBeforeBeauty · 25/08/2018 17:50

I look awful. Big sugar belly, wide, flabby and short. Weight piled on the past few years, before kids was always size 8-10 with a nice figure but alas that didn't last ...

Can't bear to go shopping now and seeing the horrible figure looking back at me, nothing looks good on me and I've lost my mojo :(

NellieBee · 26/08/2018 00:10

Definitely not, I'm 19 stone. But OH is happy enough with me so that'll do!

RossPoldarksFloozie · 26/08/2018 00:16

I like what I see when I look in the mirror, size 8 and 4 children.
