Where to move too - up north

Hi all, would love some personal opinions and advice on where to go.

Currently live in London, and looking to move out before we start a family as tbh we're both fed up of London.

Our jobs are portable, we can work from home all the time, so commuting isn't a worry however we do like to go find libraries, cafes and parks to sit and work in as well.

We are thinking of moving well out of the South East, and heading north.
We really like city living but then love hiking / and being out and about as much as possible.

At the moment we are thinking of Newcastle, Leeds, Huddersfield.

My family lives in hull so we don't want to be too far from them, maximum 2 and a half hours.
Our budget would be 300k max, prefer 250k.

Just jumping in with the suggestion of County Durham, visited many times and is a beautiful City with lots of culture.

Bramhope, Wetherby, Otley near enough to Leeds without being inner city and only a short drive to Harrogate, York, Hull and The Dales. Best of all worlds with everything on your doorstep.

Newcastle but I'm biased 😉...... Beaches just down the road, Northumberland just up the road.

I live in Liverpool but went to university in Hull so have done the journey many times.

I love Leeds! It was often where I changed trains or coach and was actually my first choice uni but I missed out on my grades.

The M62 is a good motorway, connects Liverpool/Manchester/Leeds and Hull with many other places in between.

You are literally spoilt for choice op :)

Thanks all very helpful.

It's just trying to find a good house for 300k with a decent garden as we want a family very soon. And prefer a train station or metro station
