Dyson has been on the wonk for a while and I'd made my mind up to 'treat' myself to a new Shark when it dies... well, it died today whilst I was out and DH has bought a replacement... a new Dyson 😭😭

I'm prepared to LTB unless you lovely people can convince me he's saved me from a dreadful mistake!

(Lighthearted obvs, I won't LTB I am giving him the silent treatment though)

I don't understand how.people can think the shark liftaway is heavy but then use a Dyson - they are miles heavier.

Atthebottomofthesea · 19/08/2018 22:17

I am now a shark owner. Still in the box (the garden called today) but will get it out, He did a good sell in the shop.

I had this thread on my watch list as I really want a Shark, I can never find a decent hoover that deals with dog hair on carperts.....its now on Amazons deal of the day so I'm taking that as I sign to buy one Grin.

My corded Shark has never toppled. I really love it.

SoyDora · 20/08/2018 20:30

No, mine has never toppled either.

I replaced an old Dyson with a Shark Rocket which I liked at the startbut it lost power and didn’t last more than a year.

Got a Miele c3 now and it’s better than the Dyson and the Shark. And was cheaper

Has anyone got a Gtech AirRam MK2? Hate my Dyson!!!

Oct18mummy · 20/08/2018 22:24

They don’t work on long pile carpets didn’t realise that when we bought ours literally cannot push it backwards or forwards. So our shark is for the downstairs!

TheFairyCaravan · 20/08/2018 22:34

We’ve got a Shark Liftaway and we love it. DH is responsible for hoovering in our house and he thinks very highly of his Shark, he’s even convinced most of his office staff to buy them. Ours has nevertheless toppled

Eeeeek2 · 20/08/2018 22:46

Mum has a shark and it's horrid. She has hard floors downstairs and a fluffy dog and it just wafts the hair around. Vacuum lost suction not that it was great before so asked me to unblock it, there is several right angles which are blocked up with dog hair and impossible to unblock without finding some special star shaped allen key and dismantling the bloody thing.

Convinced her to by the dyson cordless and am currently getting daily texts of what she has hoovered with what attachment so she seems to like it much better.

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 20/08/2018 22:55

We've got 5 dogs and recently converted to shark after years of Dysons and it definitely picks up better plus gets underneath the bed.

3 downsides are the cord is shorter so we have to use an extension cable, dust bin is ridiculously small and it gives me arm ache to push but that's because it grips the carpet so well.

Jayne232 · 05/10/2018 06:54

Has anyone got the cordless upright lift away? I am sorely tempted.

MismatchedStripySocks · 05/10/2018 07:45

Another Shark user here and I love it. My carpets look fab. Bought it after my faithful Henry Hoover died a death.
