New Hogwarts castle, the age 16+ version. Available to Lego VIP members now.

I've ordered it! It looks fab!

I had all the original Lego from the first 2 films and sold it all on eBay and have regretted it ever since. So this will make up for it Grin.

Tell me I'm not mad please Grin.

£350 Shock

I thought The Tower of Orthanc was expensive enough

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 15/08/2018 22:00

I lust after Ninjago City - seen it in the Lego shop at Legoland and it looks like such a great build. I got the green dragon for Xmas.

HappySpade · 15/08/2018 22:01

Saggital - I know someone who does exactly that! Buys two of the really popular sets. Opens one for himself and then sells the other for twice the price in 5 years' time so he'll come out even in the end.

We’ve got loads of Lego . Still got all the original HP stuff in the loft and as I’m not a HP fan I’m not going for any of the new stuff . We have the Disney castle on display in our second lounge along with the large Eiffel Tower , Big Ben , tower bridge and some of the large vehicles .

FermatsTheorem · 15/08/2018 22:12

I want a Millenium Falcon!

AutisticHedgehog · 15/08/2018 22:14

AutisticHedgehog I'm on the spectrum too and love love lego

It’s just magical, isn’t it? So therapeutic. I’m glad you understand the Lego-love.

Mao - I have Ninjago City and it is my favourite set. The detail is phenomenal. I’ve got my eye on the Ninjago City Docks now.

HarryPotterNerdAlert · 15/08/2018 22:22

Theraputic is exactly how I describe it Grin.

Envy I'm green with envy. I'd love it but don't know where I'd put it when it's built.

Well actually it could go in the hall but I think the Disney castle would look better.

Enjoy very brick.Smile

Bubblysqueak · 15/08/2018 22:25

Omg omg omg !!!!! I've been wanting one of these for ages !!! You really need to put a warning on this thread as I'm now very jealous and trying to figure out how I can afford one do I really need 2 kidneys?

Ontheboardwalk · 15/08/2018 22:38

I don’t understand adult Lego but i want to!

I waste so much time watching rubbish on telly or on the internet I want to do something useful

£350 tho, how long will that take you to build?

UselessTrees · 15/08/2018 22:38

RE: the minifigs - if you can get to a Lego shop the staff can find the ones you want if you ask them (probably because they don't want the customers fondling all the bags!).

Bubblysqueak · 15/08/2018 22:51

In my excitement I didn't even realise it was a new set. I just wrongly assumed it was the old set re released! I want it even more now. I must resist looking at the Disney castle too, otherwise I'll want that too.
I'm very new to adult Lego and I've only built one set, Buckingham palace that dh bought me for Christmas.

ALemonyPea · 15/08/2018 22:56

DS3 got the ninjago boat and ancient city for his birthday last year. We spent a full week building it together. Great fun.

mamahanji · 15/08/2018 23:01

My first Lego present as an adult!

I'm salivating over the hogwarts castle. Currently in negotiations with my partner over where we can display it and the millennium falcon which he wants.

Bugger, we don't have a lego shop where I live (NOT happy but it's probably a good thing). DH had to go away for work before Christmas last year and he phoned me from a lego shop. I insisted he buy the lego christmas train. It looked great around our tree. Now I want the Christmas house to go with it.

It's going to take a while to build. It's my first adult set. I built helped DD with her lego friends hospital last year. That took long enough!

I've earmarked where it's going, but that room isn't done yet so I may have to wait to build it. But I'm not sure I can! It will be here within a week!

Technically it's not paid for yet. It's on DH's credit card. I'm having part of it as a birthday present from DH and the rest I'll pay off. Kind of need to buy a fridge as well but this seemed important 😁.

ontheboard, siriusly seriously, it's really relaxing. Addictive though.

My dh is brilliant at buying mini figures , our ds collects certain sets and dh goes out to get them because he always brings back exactly the right ones , he’s an expert packet fondler .

ALemonyPea · 16/08/2018 09:10

Best way to do the big sets is to do a bag at a time. One or two a day to stretch the enjoyment.

Buddyelf · 16/08/2018 09:17

Oh I knew before I had even opened this it would be the Harry Potter Lego!
I've never been into Lego even as a child, never had the patience for it but I am a big Harry Potter fan and these look great. Maybe I should start off with a smaller set. That little Dumbeldore is so cute!

simplepimple · 16/08/2018 09:19

Hmmm... lego you say?

I'm off to explore and am thinking this could be the very beginning of a slippy slope to find contentment.

safariboot · 16/08/2018 09:27

Enjoy, it should be epic. It's a massive build.

I remember watching that Channel 4 documentary about AFOLs a couple of years ago, and that guy who insisted on completing all his new sets in one sitting. His poor wife had resigned herself to helping speed up the process by pre-sorting all the bits and had bought him a music stand to put the instruction books on. I'd probably have just divorced him, tbh.

TSSDNCOP · 16/08/2018 10:20

I really really want the Milenium Falcon.

fussychica · 16/08/2018 10:23

Not mad.
Enjoy it.

When DS was young I swear I got as much, if not more pleasure from his Playmobile than he did.Grin

mamahanji · 16/08/2018 11:04

Buddyelf

He is adorable. Only 60 ish pieces and took about 30 minutes. Really enjoyable on a smaller scale. But I've always been into epic puzzles (the kind where you don't have a picture) so really want something bigger too!

Whatsthatbrightlght · 16/08/2018 11:15

Oh wow, I’m green with envy here. I just showed my 14 yr old DS a picture. All he said was “you’re going to get that aren’t you?”
