New Hogwarts castle, the age 16+ version. Available to Lego VIP members now.

I've ordered it! It looks fab!

I had all the original Lego from the first 2 films and sold it all on eBay and have regretted it ever since. So this will make up for it Grin.

Tell me I'm not mad please Grin.

Tbh if we had room for it, I’m fairly sure DH and I would have done the same!

We’re still eyeing up the millennium falcon 😂 just have no space! We’re already having to clear a load of stuff out to make room for our PFB’s arrival in December 😂

prettygreywalls · 15/08/2018 19:55

DP hates shopping and shopping centres with a vengeance but started to want to go to blue water with me if he was asked - got pulled into the Lego shop every time we went , it just seemed to have a strange vortex right outside the door as he passed 😊
I got the millennium falcon for DP as a combined birthday and well done gift because he had a promotion with work , it was unexpected by him and so he was very chuffed

LurpakIsTheOnlyButter · 15/08/2018 19:56

DH has the loads of original Lego in boxes, pristine from the 1980s including the formula 1 set with the racetrack

He won't let me build the hospital. I'm dying to have a go

One Christmas DH, DS and I all got lego sets for our main presents Smile Weirdly neither DH or I had said we had wanted lego from each other, but we had both been non-committal over what we did want, so we both must have been inspired whilst looking at the Lego sets for DS. I think we worked out that between the 3 presents there were over 8,000 lego bricks Shock

DMF1305 · 15/08/2018 20:04

You're not mad. Disney Castle for me, but I didn't just buy one! I bought two, one to build & one to keep in the box for my daughter to have when she's older.

ALemonyPea · 15/08/2018 20:06

Lurpak, divorce the selfish sod and get the Lego in the settlement 😁

I would also like the Disney castle. I’d buy myself Lego if I had somewhere to store it after it was built.

The scheme beginning with V? I never got offered that Angry My nephew would have gone apeshit!

SpareBedroom · 15/08/2018 20:11

DH got me a Lego train and tracks for my 50th birthday.

I also have the VW Campervan which is awesome, with loads of detail inside. Took hours to build, but that was part of the fun.

Now after the Hogwarts train. There is nothing bad about loving Lego as an adult!

BabloHoney · 15/08/2018 20:14

Apparently Lego sets appreciate more than gold or shares! Enjoy x

Yes that's the one. Amazon Vine.

I usually get offered books but occasionally and rarely get offered stuff like Lego.

Currently also reviewing a pencil sharpener and a hole punch.

HarryPotterNerdAlert · 15/08/2018 20:17

I did have the original castle 😭. I have a feeling this will be much better as it incorporates the chamber of secrets and lots of classrooms instead of it all being separate.

I came very close to buying the Disney castle in Orlando but wasn't sure about the weight limit and getting it all in as our cases were already jammed full. I still want it though.

So how do you review Amazon stuff? Never heard of this before. But would love to do it!

Brilliant!

My ds loves Lego but we much prefer the building of it!

fairgame84 · 15/08/2018 20:24

I love Lego. DS has autism and its one of his obsessions. I got him the Ninjago City set after he had an operation and it's amazing. I really wish he was into Harry Potter but he's not so won't be interested in the new sets.
I'm very envious of you having the Disney Castle set DMF.

PatriciaHolm · 15/08/2018 20:30

What makes it 16+?🤫

Ron and Hermoine shagging in the guards van?

PhilODox · 15/08/2018 21:18

The castle is awesome, but I wasn't impressed that is has microfigures not minifigs Sad

Doodlebug5 · 15/08/2018 21:22

Oh I want it. So so jealous

AutisticHedgehog · 15/08/2018 21:23

I love Lego so very, very much.

I have the Millennium Falcon and it’s wonderful. It brings me so much happiness and calm.

Don’t feel one ounce of guilt, OP. Lego can be a joy for anyone, at any age. (Except under 3’s as the bricks are too small)

Bokky · 15/08/2018 21:25

I was in the Lego store in Disney last night and they had it set up. Wouldn't be able to get it home though!!

You are not mad. It makes you happy so it’s worth every penny. Enjoy! 😉

bookmum08 · 15/08/2018 21:27

I am a massive Lego fan and belong to an adult Lego group. I am a Lego fan on a budget so any set above £30 is usually not for me (sob), however as part of my Lego group I sometimes get to build the big sets. Ninjago City is amazing. So much detail and great fun to build.

HarryPotterNerdAlert · 15/08/2018 21:30

It looks amazing Bokky (and I'm very jealous of you being at Disney World right now Grin).

DH has just bought me one of the new blind bags. I've just got Dumbledore. Only 4 left to get as I persuaded the DCs that we should pool our figures and display the lot downstairs. I did already have loads but DS had Newt and DD had Hermoine. We don't have too many doubles so have been lucky so far. Tempted to just try and get the last 4 on ebay. Or maybe we should have a swap on here!

HarryPotterNerdAlert · 15/08/2018 21:32

AutisticHedgehog I'm on the spectrum too and love love lego.

I admit I wasn't thrilled about the microfigures but I can add my figures from the blind bags.

Every week on MN there'll be some poor woman who doesn't get as much as a birthday card from her partner and then others will pile in and say she's stupid and entitled for even wanting anything. This sort of post just goes to show how lovely it is to buy something for a partner - it shows an understanding of what he'd love and it's a huge expression of love in itself.
