There was a fab thread on here last year with loads of tips but I can't find it.

17 year old DD is off there next week with ten mates. What does she need to take, what aren't you allowed to take.

Oh dear! The rain's meant to be completely off by 7/8pm but I suppose the damage is done, it must be very squelchy underfoot! It's pretty cold again tonight - not quite as bad as last night, but still.

Tomorrow is warm, dry and sunny so a good day for packing up. Admittedly I've started leaving on Sunday in recent years (pre-headliners if they're not my fave bands) to avoid the Monday exodus Wink

That's true, maybe the trains will be quieter today. Wonder if he is bringing any vodka back?

DD calling it a day and she really wanted to see Kings of Leon so it must be quite bad

DD chucked in the (very wet) towel yesterday. Tent was not robust enough to cope with people falling on it on Saturday night (🙄) and there were no more dry clothes to put on. The aura of bliss when she got out of her hot bath last night was something to behold!

As an aside I may be very naive but the amount of drugs around seems astonishing to me - according to DD vast majority clearly on something, smell of weed everywhere, balloons of NO openly for sale etc etc. So much for zero tolerance policy.....

I went late yesterday afternoon to watch KOL (who were amazing). I had to walk through a couple of the camping areas and my mouth literally hung open the entire time. I have never seen so much rubbish/mess/collapsed tents in my life.

The toilets were however very clean apart from the female urinals - that was a new one for me 😂.

I went to a festival a few weeks ago with an ‘older ‘ age range & the smell of weed was everywhere- I only saw 1 group smoking it yesterday and again they definitely weren’t teens.

Ds said it’s put him off drugs forever!! He said he saw so many people out of it and being taken away in ambulances that even if he’d wanted to try he would have been too scarred to after the first night.
So that’s a good thing. I hope he means it. He even said drinking got boring and the last day he was drinking coffee and Diet Coke.

I don’t think he’ll be rushing out for every festival going now. But he did say he really enjoyed it and the music and atmosphere was great. Just a bit of an eye opener for a few of the 16yr olds there.

That's a very good thing unicorn! My DD hasn't said much about the drugs. I think it may have put her off camping for a while though!

unicorn you obviously had the same conversation we had! A tent full of Naice girls, quite sheltered and very inexperienced did a lot of growing up in 3 days 😀

Such an experience for them! I must admit I was rather concerned about the whole thing and so pleased to see her back in one piece!
