That is if you don't mind sharing it. I'm just trying to get a gauge of how regular mine is. I have 3 credit cards; £750, £1500 and £300 limits respectively. Overdraft allowance of about £3k.

I had to cut my OD when I went part time to £800 (I was constantly od)
Four various visa with 9-10k limits three master cards with 3,3,10k limits and my credit card I'm using has 8k left.

If I spent even a 10th of my available credit I'd be up shit creek, no way could I repay.

TillyVonMilly · 13/08/2018 14:23

Over draft is £200, I’ve never asked for it to be increased since the account has been open as I don’t use it. Credit card is £10000, balance paid in full each month by direct debit.

Mansplanation · 13/08/2018 14:29

Overdraft is £500, I’ve never used it.

Credit card is £4K and I spend £400 on it a month, it’s paid in full every month and I start every new month with a balance of £0.

I also have another credit card that’s kept in a drawer with a £6k limit on it. This is specifically for dog related emergencies. Both dogs are insured with top level insurance but if ever the insurance refused to pay, the emergency card is there ready to go.

No credit cards. Overdraft limit of £500 but is unused I just have it there in case of an emergency.

olderthanyouthink · 13/08/2018 14:31

No overdraft, crappy credit card has £1200 limit

itsallgravybaby · 13/08/2018 14:32

Overdraft £3k which I dip into by about £100 each month (not too bothered by this)

Two credit cards, one with £6k limit with about £400 on (unexpected breakdown and it's 0% for another year or so) and one with £5k limit with nothing on

YeTalkShiteHen · 13/08/2018 14:32

No credit cards or overdraft.

I got myself into a pickle when I was younger, it took me a long time to get out of it and I want to keep it that way.

I have a stash for emergencies instead.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 13/08/2018 14:34

£3k overdraft and £13.5k credit card. Both are pretty much unused but I get regular letters saying that my limit has been increased.

FurForksSake · 13/08/2018 14:35

CC is £8k, I have £200 on it, which will be paid off next week. OD is £1k, never use it.

BitchQueen90 · 13/08/2018 14:48

I don't own any credit cards. OD I can apply for is £760 according to my mobile banking but I don't have one.

I don't borrow money really, I'm a low earner and I live really simply within my means. I rent my home so anything that breaks down isn't my responsibility.

VladmirsPoutine · 13/08/2018 14:52

Seems mine are quite modest. I've not really applied for or used any of mine but was once told to have them in order to boost my rating. I also rarely use mine because I want to stay 100% afloat of my finances but then again if I were really up shit creek there'd be no option.

I have 2 credit cards.

CC1 - £4500, CC2 - £2000

Next Credit Account - £5000
New Look Store Card - £300

No overdraft on my bank account (I can't trust myself!)

TheQueef · 13/08/2018 14:57

I've balance transferred lots, that's why so many cards and because I pay a set amount my credit score is excellent.
Shame i could never pay it off if spent it all.
I do consider a fuck it cruise on the plastic sometimes a year long one Grin

ParkheadParadise · 13/08/2018 15:07

CC1 £20,000
CC2 £20,000
Next Acc £8,000
John Lewis Acc £5,000
HOF Acc £5,000

Overdraft is £1,000 which I never use.
CC is paid in full every month.

confusedmomm · 13/08/2018 15:09

Overdraft is 5k, credit cards are respectively 15k, 3k and 8k. I rarely use them but like to know they are there if needed.

SoyDora · 13/08/2018 15:11

Overdraft allowance is £4000, one credit card has a £20,000 limit and one of £15,000. Next account is £5,000.
Don’t use any of it! Actually I think I have £60 outstanding on the Next acct.

namechange2pointoh · 13/08/2018 15:12

I have no credits cards and no overdraft. Don't need it and don't want it. Credit rating doesn't interest me. The idea of having over £50k available credit actually terrifies me!

SoyDora · 13/08/2018 15:13

The idea of having all that credit doesn’t bother me, it’s just numbers on a piece of paper (or a screen in the case of my online banking).

VladmirsPoutine · 13/08/2018 15:14

How do you all get these quotes for £15/20k limits?

In my life I've earned both 10k a year and 100k a year - both times I still had my measly £750 limit Grin

OP posts:
SoyDora · 13/08/2018 15:14

(Available credit I mean, we’re not actually in any debt).
Credit rating bothers me in the sense that we needed it to be good to get our mortgage.

SoyDora · 13/08/2018 15:15

How do you all get these quotes for £15/20k limits?

Just put our details into the online application and that’s what they gave us!

MongerTruffle · 13/08/2018 15:15

Credit card - £10000 (13.9% APR)
Overdraft - £5000 (75p a day)

MissConductUS · 13/08/2018 15:18

CC1 - $30k limit. I get 2% cash back on this card and I asked for an increase because I was having a massive amount of dental work done I wanted to put on the card and they gave it to me.

CC2 - $10k

Overdraft - $4k

We have been very careful managing our credit score over the years.

TheQueef · 13/08/2018 15:23

I still get offered an increase Vlad I've refused several.
The only lender who has ever decreased my credit is Barclaycard. No idea why it's random.

BarbaraofSevillle · 13/08/2018 15:31

Several credit cards with limits between £800 and £8000. I do a bit of stoozing for the hell of it as it doesn't really make enough money to make a real difference any more, but I was surprised about the last £8k limit as I have available credit of around £35k. I've got a couple of cards with £4k limits that I keep meaning to cancel, so they're off my record so to speak, so I can go for another 0% offer if I see a good one.

I've used it to move some money around and the effect is that I'm borrowing £7.5k for 2.5 years interest free. That money is in my Santader Current account paying 1.5% interest, so I'll profit nearly £300 from the deal.

No overdrafts and no debt apart from small mortgage. All credit card balances are either paid off in full every month or offset by savings.

If I were you'd, I'd knock down the overdraft limit to about £250 to give you a buffer against the odd forgotten direct debit and ask your main bank for a credit card with a higher limit (£2-5k?) and use that for all your routine spending, paid off in full every month, so helps with managing cashflow and shows the banks you can handle non trivial credit card balances. Once you have one with a decent limit, others may follow.
