Just discovered my phone has been tracking my every move for four years!

Has anyone else stumbled across Google's location history/timeline feature? I have no idea how/when I enabled this by mistake but I just stumbled across it and I can literally see almost every train, drive and walk I've taken since 2014, broken down by day and time! It's really interesting and sort of freaky at the same time.

Thought I'd let MN know in case anyone else was in the dark like me and didn't want this info to be collected. If you Google "Google Timeline" you'll find it.

Surprised it's never come up on any of the threads about affairs, but I suppose you wouldn't know about it unless you stumbled across it randomly like I did!

What kind of phone do you have? Surely this can only happen if you are constant logged in to your google account?

Unless you have turned it off, iphones store your visited locations - useful if you are trying to catch out a cheat!

Iphone - > Settings - > Privacy -> Location Services (tap on Location Services itself at the top of that screen) -> scroll down to the very bottom and tap on System Services ==> Frequent Locations ==> BINGO!

Personally I always turn off location services and only turn it on when I use the app in issue.
