A few days ago, I noticed this blood blister looking thing on my tummy, I've just googled and I'm scared by what I've read :(
This is a fairly new thing as I'd of noticed.

Mine is just above my belly button and on the left flank of my abdomen

DH's is higher and more in the middle

AnyFucker · 13/08/2018 08:27

Mine is a dark red, his is even darker (almost black). He has picked at it several times...it bleeds and then jusst comes back.

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 08:51

It's the colour that's worrying me mainly

I had one about 2 months ago. I am guessing you're worried about melanoma? I googled too as it was so odd looking but it went away after 2 weeks.

Armi · 13/08/2018 08:57

I’ve had several of these in different places and panicked every time. They get bigger and then as soon as you make a doctor’s appointment they get smaller again and vanish.

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 09:01

Yes, that's exactly what I'm worried about, and according to good old Google, the one matching my description is the most serious, fast growing.
At the risk of being a parrot, was yours jet black?

OP posts:
Armi · 13/08/2018 09:02

Mine were black, if that helps.

UterusUterusGhali · 13/08/2018 09:03

I had one of these on my foot got a couple of years. I think it occurred on the site of an insect bite. It didn't grow or hurt. One day after a shower it just came off. It was skin. Left a mark that looks like a bruise but the blood blister didn't come back.
It was sooooo satisfying picking it off. Grin

AnyFucker · 13/08/2018 09:04

We are not going to reassure you. See your GP, love

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 13/08/2018 09:09

Not had antibiotics lately have you? I have a mild penicillin allergy and that is exactly what happens about a week after I take them.

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 09:10

Thanks Armi it does.
I've just got an apt for 2:30, do you think they'll deffo refer me? I can't see how they'll know the difference, because apparently they look the same? :(

OP posts:
Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 09:12

No, no antibiotics, the ONLY thing I can think of, is a cats claw might have caught me ( they hate being picked up, but sometimes needs must ) is doubtful tho, because surely I would also have had a scratch

OP posts:
Armi · 13/08/2018 09:15

If they refer you, that’s brilliant - they will be making sure to get to the bottom of it. I’m glad you’re going to the doctor.

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 09:24

I don't want to be referred, because that means they think it is bad. I want them to tell me it's nothing to worry about

OP posts:
AFingerofFudge · 13/08/2018 09:25

I have one of these and have had it years and years. It's black and on my hand. Had it checked out and it was benign and insignificant.

Ellapaella · 13/08/2018 09:35

It doesn't mean it's bad if they refer you - it means your doctor is being sensible if they are unsure what it is and are getting things checked out properly.
Thousands of people go to the melanoma clinic every day in every hospital in the UK, only a small proportion of them will actually have melanoma.
Your GP might look at it and instantly say it's fine, but if they do refer you it doesn't mean they think it's definitely bad either.

ChaChaChaCh4nges · 13/08/2018 10:37

I’m really sorry your anxiety is causing you so much angst. If this level of upset keeps up (fingers crossed it won’t) please would you go back to your GP about that too?

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 11:05

Yes, I will. Was so proud of myself for coming off my AD's too.
Interestingly, I was searching on here for anyone with the same issue, and a post came up that was exactly the same as mine, I was reading it, nodding along, and it turns out IT WAS ME, so I've had this before in 2009, only on my thigh, and apparently according to my update, it just dropped off a couple of weeks later.

OP posts:
Gailkid · 13/08/2018 11:06

Did lot of tests and two had faint lines. These were from the morning and ones later in day we’re negative.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/08/2018 11:09

It's hard to tell from the picture, but its definitely not a tick?

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 11:11

Wrong post Gail:)
A tick? Erm I wouldn't have thought so? Is a smooth, shiny thing that's raised, but sort of flat on top

OP posts:
busybear · 13/08/2018 17:10

Hope it all went okay OP

Loopylou6 · 13/08/2018 17:40

Hello :)
She says it's not what I was worrying about, I took the pic I put on here, and one I'd taken today, she said it looks less inflamed today and doesn't have the halo it did yesterday so she's happy.
She said just to take a pic every 2/3 days for 2 weeks, and if it's still there to go back with the pics for her to see. But she did say she's not concerned.

OP posts:
busybear · 13/08/2018 17:43

That's really good news.

flapjackfairy · 13/08/2018 17:44

Oh good. Breathe easy and relax now x
