Baby screams in the car

Sorry to post here. Just hoping for more replies!

My 4 month old has always been good in the car. We used to go out for drives when she was tiny and fussy to calm her down. We travel a lot as our famillies are far away.

The last month, baby has been absolutely screaming her head off in the car. We have bought a new car seat today. Didn't help. I've sat in the back with her. Didn't help. I just don't know what to do. It's so stressful.

It's not every time but if she's not tired enough to fall asleep, she screams. Nothing distracts her!

Anyone had this and found a solution? Please tell me it's just a phase!!

Did wonder about having her in the front with the airbag off if I was travelling alone with her!

Had a bit of a breakthrough today. Slept alll the way too our designation, a good 45 minutes and even stayed asleep when the car stopped. She looked super comfy too. Not slumped like her old seat.

Way home we had a little cry initially cause it took a minute to get her in but sat with her and showed her songs on YouTube and settled. Didn't need to have the songs on the whole way either. So I've downloaded some baby bum tv and pocoyo on Netflix onto my iPad and bought a head rest handing iPad holder to test out. Hopefully we're getting somewhere. Have never managed to distract her once the crying has started unless we take her out!

what's the new seat Astrid? Sorry if I've missed it.

Like a few others we have the joie i-gemm seat, which I felt had the best newborn insert (and is a Which? best buy). I wonder if we should try a different one as it does seem to be a common factor.

We got the Joie Every Stage. Is taking a bit of getting used to and a bit of faffing around getting the straps, shoulder pads, head rest and insert all in the right place but it looks super comfy!
