What do you think of these? God awful or OK? I think they look kind of vintage-y but maybe I'm fooling myself... (Please excuse pasty feet)

Honest opinions on these sandals please!

These sandals are possibly ok looking. I've got a pair of Merrells in a different style from several years ago. Quite comfortable even for high arches (I usually wear orthotics but obviously with sandals this is impossible). Very sturdy, they are decent walking sandals without being quite so obvious.

Alternatively, have you looked at Vionics - they cater specifically for people who would usually need / wear orthotics.

BeyondThePage · 01/05/2018 16:25

I have hotter sol sandals - a similar style to the OP - but straight straps for fat feet. They are sooooooooo comfortable I can be on my feet all day in them.

Honest opinions on these sandals please!

I say this on all sandals threads-Merrells, Merrill, Merrill. So comfy and (I think) pretty.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/05/2018 16:37

What about these from Clarkes

Not my style but infinitely better than the hotter ones in the OP

PickAChew · 01/05/2018 16:38

Rieker do some lovely squishy sandals.

blueskyinmarch · 01/05/2018 16:42

I have just bought these Gabor sandals. They are very soft and squishy but i fear not very cool.

corcaithecat · 01/05/2018 16:44

I love Alegria sandals and shoes. I've got wide feet and they have memory foam insoles and are very comfy. I don't care much for what's deemed to be in or out (!) and just wear what I like, that's comfy.

MrsCatE · 01/05/2018 16:46

I swear by FitFlops.

ISeeTheLight · 01/05/2018 16:48

If you're looking for comfy sandals have a look at Ecco. Some of theirs are nice, cushioned without looking frumpy.

ggirl · 01/05/2018 18:03

I feel your pain OP.
I have bought these clarks ones
I have high instep and plantar fasciitis , these are very squishy to walk on.

Have you tried fit flop , some nice ones that don't look as chunky as they used to.

ShinyMe · 02/05/2018 19:23

@SilverHairedCat I LOVE Tevas! I have three pairs now. My first ones were bought in the States on a holiday where we did a lot of walking. I have three pairs of velcro rough hillwalking styles ones, and they are the most comfortable things ever. Sadly they also look bulky and rough and frumpy, but mostly I don't care. I have a black pair which are acceptable for work with black trousers, although I don't dare wear them to work with a skirt. But out of work, I live in them all summer - I have black, brown and neon orange.

Heratnumber7 · 02/05/2018 19:26

Comfy. Which isn't a compliment!

justaweeone · 02/05/2018 19:29

No, sorry

LoniceraJaponica · 02/05/2018 19:42

I have a pair of Earth Spirit sandals that I bought 5 years ago, and they are still going strong. They have never had a chance to get worn out as we very rarely get a lot of hot weather where we live, so they really only get worn on holiday.

I wore them nearly every day walking around theme parks in Florida, and they were so comfortable. They are very similar to the first pair here

Fuggit · 02/05/2018 20:18

These are fab, so comfy and (I think) pretty. Not sure whether they would work with a high instep though. Some of the other sandals on this site may also be worth a look. I do find with Moshulu that there is a fine line between stylish and frumpy though. Choose wisely!

fit flop sandals. I have pf and they’re the only thing I can wear at the moment v

mimibunz · 03/05/2018 15:10

Sorry, OP. They're awful. What about Clarks?

Backhometothenorth · 03/05/2018 15:18

Hush puppies are very comfy and look good

MargoLovebutter · 03/05/2018 15:21

I struggle with this so much. My feet are full of broken bits and I'm always on the hunt for comfortable but vaguely stylish shoes that aren't disgustingly ugly.

How about these: www.charlesclinkard.co.uk/women-c1/sandals-c4/wedge-c79/nieve-womens-wedge-heel-sandals-p28742?rec=253-7d-w
