What is expected of your lady garden

Ok I'm thinking about joining the dating pool. My question is what is expected of my down stairs. My first husband it was normal to go all natural my second husband was in a time it was expected to have a clean shave now after being on my own for quite some time I could probably Platt it. What are we meant to do with it these days ?????

When I first met DP I religiously wavxed every 4 weeks as I thought that was the expectation, he never gave me that impression. 4 years later it just gets a trim every few weeks so it's within my knicker line and quite short for my own cleanliness I prefer it. And DP admits he prefers it now, all that pain for nothing Grin

yetanotherdeskmove · 23/07/2017 20:00

I do what I want with it. I don't give a shiny shit what a man wants me to do with it.

PencilsInSpace · 23/07/2017 20:02

Nothing crawling in it that I didn't put there myself.

AssassinatedBeauty · 23/07/2017 20:06

Apparently these days it's unusual to have pubic hair, certainly very unusual if you don't do any kind of hair removal at all. Apparently lots of men also remove all their pubic hair as well as women.

Personally I would do whatever you're comfortable with. I don't do any pubic hair removal at all. I wouldn't want to be with a man who thought that I should or who found pubic hair to be a turn off.

elevenclips · 23/07/2017 20:09

I would get a battery powered bikini trimmer. It's like clippers, you just run it over there whole lot and it trims to the length that you chose. Keeps it neat but avoids wax. I would also do something to avoid any pubes sticking out of your pants, maybe shave bikini line.

ememem84 · 23/07/2017 20:09

I used to get a fairly regular wax. For me. Not for dh. Nothing major just a basic bikini wax.

Since being pregnant I want to keep it up, but can't see to do it myself and waxing hurts like a mofo now. Sigh.

thefutureisfemale · 23/07/2017 20:09

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and just got my first wax (because it was on groupon and because I'm fucking stupid) it almost killed me and DH said it looks like a plucked chicken...

PerpetualStudent · 23/07/2017 20:12

Am I the only one who goes through phases of letting things grow wild and free?

Gotanewusernamenow · 23/07/2017 20:14

What about grey hairs intruding more and more every time I dare glance down there? Does that bother you ladies/men?

thefutureisfemale · 23/07/2017 20:14

Sorry girls.. I'm only 24..
do pubes actually go grey?!

Zephyr01 · 23/07/2017 20:15

Seize the opportunity and make it into a handlebar moustache complete with waxed ends.

That'll freak anyone going down there!

MaisyPops · 23/07/2017 20:16

Add a spot of vajazzle to the mix for a truly eccentric look.

I'd say that was true of the under 25's but not everyone.

Do what you want OP, you wouldn't want him if he made a fuss either way, would you, as he'd be a knob?

RapunzelsRealMom · 23/07/2017 20:21

Thefutureisfemale I think so, but I'm 46 and it hasn't turned yet

OhTheRoses · 23/07/2017 20:26

Bloody he'll I'm 57. Thank goodness I've been with DH for 28 years. This wasn't a thing in my 20s. Most men then were just grateful to be allowed to get that close let alone see it.

Mind you, I'm not that hairy to start with.
For the 24 year old up thread sadly yes they do go grey. I think I'd consider highlights before removal Grin.

yetanotherdeskmove · 23/07/2017 20:26

I have one grey one (age 43). And in answer to pp, am mostly untrimmed as I cba.

ExcitingButScaryTimesAhead · 23/07/2017 20:27

Be careful with regrowth. It can be itchy and irritating so plenty of moisturiser and exfoliating to avoid ingrown hairs.

RuncibleSp00n · 23/07/2017 20:28

What is 'expected' of my 'lady garden'?

Well, for it to mainly live in my pants, for it to house a mons/clitoris/labia/urethra/anus, for it to be largely clean(ish) but occasionally a bit mucky, for it to be a sort of sandy-blonde (with a few greys), for it often to be like a thicket but sometimes have a light haircut, and for it to occasionally grace my DH with it's lovely presence.

And for it to be called my pubic hair and vag (I'm neither a lady nor is it a garden).

kel1234 · 23/07/2017 20:28

It's completely your choice what you do.
Personally I can't stand any hair done there so I am always completely smooth and shaved.

RuncibleSp00n · 23/07/2017 20:30

I'm nearly 40. Maybe that's why I am not crazy am down-to-earth about pubic hair. I'd hate to be young and dating now. I think I'd choose to be a lesbian, and would give these young men who like the barbie look a massively wide berth.

PugOnToast · 23/07/2017 20:33

When (a long long time ago) I eventually got it together with the "man of my filthy dreams" I was totally natural. All the other times there had been possibilities I had been trimmed and neat. This time I was showing in swimsuit natural.

I gave not a shit. And he never mentioned it either.

dementedma · 23/07/2017 20:39

I hate that many of mine are grey. I have an old lady minge.Sad

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 23/07/2017 20:47

thefutureisfemale, yup, 'fraid so. They go grey. Then they fall out completely as your hormone levels dwindle.

OP - go with whatever you want. As a PP said, any man who gets up close and personal to your vulva should just feel immensely privileged to be there, pubes or no pubes.

Gotanewusernamenow · 23/07/2017 20:53

MOstlyboringhedgehog
I also heard that they eventually fall out!!
Oh dear!!

Yes op it shouldn't be a big deal to new partner.
After all... It's our choice isn't it.and it's what we are comfortable with.

Gotanewusernamenow · 23/07/2017 20:56

MOstlybowlinghedgehog not. MOstlyboringhedgehog

Sorry..too lazy to put my specs on Blush
