Why did Katie P and Peter A split - did it ever come out?

Just wondering if I missed something, it it ever come to light why they split?

I was on that thread she was on too. I remember excitedly messaging my friend to tell her I was talking to KP .

Agree about possible Aspergers with KP, she seems to tick a lot of the boxes.

Also agree that PA is a controlling douche. I saw the episode in the US too and it was just horrible. He was needling at her for ages and when she finally retorted he went crazy and stormed out of the shop. The fury on his face was quite scary actually and I too wondered what she was dealing with when the cameras weren't there.

I've always felt sorriest for Emily's parents. I've said before that I imagine them tossing and turning at night shedding tears of rage and grief when she gave up studying medicine and decided to have a baby with him; the bitter recriminations to the Dad for introducing them . At least she finished her training.

I don't think it's really appropriate to be armchair diagnosing someone you don't even know with AS, using snapshots of their life as proof tbh. Unless you know her very well and are privy to a whole lot more info that the vast majority of MNers on here, I think jumping to the conclusion that she may have AS is quite a leap.

I don't think it's any different from discussing any other aspects of a celebrities life when that celebrity entire raison d'être is putting their life out there for consideration by the masses leading to massive financial gain for them. Unless of course you view Aspergers as a very negative and sensitive thing? I don't because I have two children with autism, probably have Aspergers myself and it's a integral part of my life.

When celebs get a bashing I always think, unless they've done something to you personally than its quite unfair as you shouldn't believe all you read especially from the mail and you don't 'know' them to know what they are like.

Nicki perhaps it's because I have two children with SNs, one that is being currently assessed further for AS, that I get frustrated with this. Just because KP is well known and on occasion does court publicity, that doesn't mean it's appropriate to be making assumptions that she has AS based on purely speculation backed up by anecdotes that may or may not be factual or accurate.

on occassion? she made millions out of doing it constantly for a few years. She publishes autobiographies with every detail of her life including her sex life laid bare. This is not someone who cares about people taking about her.

When PA started doing 60 minute makeover he'd leave he thumb print in permanent ink in their newly decorated house. I'd cry if he did that and the white spirit would be straight out getting the damn thing off. Now he leaves a selfie instead. No one else who has presented that show has ever done that or changed the name of the program to include their name.

I think assumptions about celebrities and let's face it non celebrities too are part of life. AS in relation to KP has been mentioned many times, certainly not just here on a gossipy MN thread. She's very open about her own child and his additional needs and does a lot to raise awareness. The fact is a lot of ASD's are based in genetics and I don't think it's an offensive thing to discuss. However I understand that others might feel more sensitive about it .

That is true about KP being so open about herself. Which is why I believe her when she still maintains to this day she has no idea why PA left her.

Ever since KP was with PA I've always thought she looked dead behind the eyes, but recently she looks genuinely happy. (Let's hope Kerien has sorted himself out)

Interesting about the poster seeing one of their shows and saying how PA PA was - you know what I mean! I've only watched one and he was being a right cock. I actually quite like her

I caught a couple of episodes as I do love a sticky beak into the lives of the rich. The one in the US shop really stuck with me though. I couldn't believe that he allowed that footage to be shown, it was so uncomfortable to watch. He was such a GF to KP that my otherwise neutral opinion of PA (ok, I thought he was a harmless image obsessed Ken doll) changed immediately.
I also remember that when they came out of the jungle he almost didn't go out with her as he was embarrassed to be associated with her. At the time I thought, "oh, someone really thinks highly of himself despite being far less successful".
I really believe he thought he was above KP, stayed for the cash and publicity while secretly resenting her and used whatever excuse he could dream up to dump her while still maintaining his "I'm such a good dad/man/son/brother act".
Fake as his tan IMO.

The poor woman needs some real friends that aren't after her friendship for what they can get out of it.

I totally get her obsession with horses. They have no idea 'who' she is 'what' she has or what they can get out of her. Its just an unconditional bond. Unlike, as you say buzzard, the friends.

I can imagine the recent friendship betrayal as been the hardest as her oldest friends she must have thought were her most loyal and less interested in the money/fame aspect.

I guess she has stayed with him as she doesn't have anyone else and she doesn't like being alone.

I think she likes to feel in charge in her relationships and so goes for men who want fame (Peter, Alex and the husband is a stripper) which she can provide. At the same time, she resents and goads them as they don't have her money.

I'm not convinced by this new bloke either. She seems to have a habit of pulling completely self obsessed men and there's not really been any evidence he is any better. In fact, possibly worse. She does look better than she has in years though - she looks like she has finally settled into herself and is confident with who she is.

I do remember seeing her on graham norton years ago around the sun controversy over the first boob job time and she was completely awful, came across as an utter vacant arse. However, I've grown up a lot since then so I'm happy to believe she has too.

I remember that programme in America. In the shop a room with a piano and sat in the kitchen. In the shop PA was dreadful and in the kitchen PA and CC were bullying her.

PA and CC had their plan for the future then and we're biding their time. Sad to think he was still sagging her without contraceptives knowing he was leaving.

I am sure his niece and nephew will be impressed with that comment when they are older. That brother Mike had no problem with his sil buying him a car and insurance.
