THE meeting place for those smitten with Benedict Cumberbatch. As one of the members put it: Hump, limp and bad wig - but we'd still hit it.

Pile on in, there's always room for one more!

According to Twitter today has been read-through day for the Sherlock Soecial. They've teased us with this photo too Grin

Lovely photo. Such a tease but no long hair

Sudename · 25/11/2014 18:12

Oh maybe a Victorian style Christmas special :)

RiverTam · 25/11/2014 20:11

Benedict looks very dashing, definitely channelling Jeremy Brett there.

Great photo. I also got full marks on the quiz, as it says, way too much time on Tumblr (or here which is just an extension of Tumblr with the best pics!)

SciFiFan · 26/11/2014 07:18

Couple of black and whites for you all.

Got really excited seeing the Sherlock photos then realised how long we'd have to wait to see it Sad

Lovely pics scififan
Excited about the Sherlock pics too but a whole year wait. They're such teases Angry

OnlyLovers · 26/11/2014 10:09

Surely they'll do The Blue Carbuncle? Seems like the obvious choice for a Christmas special.

They both quite suit the Victorian get-up.

RiverTam · 26/11/2014 10:17

is that the one where it was shoved up the jacksy of a goose? I can picture the Jeremy Brett version in my head, some dodgy old boy trying to locate a specific goose that his sister sold or some such?

mkmjimmy · 26/11/2014 10:35

I'm not sure I can be bothered with some going back in time nonsense - I hope its just a wind up.

OnlyLovers · 26/11/2014 10:39

Yes, Tam, that's the one. I hope the working title of the production is 'Goose's jacksy' Grin.

I too am slightly worried about them doing a Doctor Who going back in time thing ...

RiverTam · 26/11/2014 10:46

I have to say I'm dubious - using the original Victorian setting, these were done so well by Granada in the 80s (using dialogue direct from the books, and positioning the actors as per the original illustrations) that there's nothing new to bring to the party, is there? Plus I understood the Moffat and Gattis were very much wanting to step away from that kind of homage. I mean, I think Benedict will look as hot as fuck but other than that I'm doubtful!

Bidding for the premiere tix for Hobbit 3 is up to £210, which is over DH's budget, dammit. Plus (as obviously he's only interested in the actual film, not squealing like a teenaged fangirl at every Benedict, Lee and Richard Tom, Dick and Harry) he pointed out that they probably won't be very good seats. Not the point, DH, not the bloody point!

RiverTam · 26/11/2014 10:47

at Goose's Jacksy.

FrankelandFilly · 26/11/2014 10:57

Daily Fail are having a whale of a time pointing out that the Sherlock photo has been photoshopped - part of Benedict's shoulder is missing

Odds are they couldn't get them in the same room to do the photo, owing to crazy-mad schedules, so took them separately and stuck them together.

I'm still living in hope that they chose to do "Silver Blaze" (about a missing racehorse) and come to my neck of the woods to do some filming Grin

brilliant! Happy Thanksgiving, Needs - what are you up to today?

Sudename · 27/11/2014 12:41

Love it Needs - enjoy the day

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 27/11/2014 13:30

Thanks, ladies. Right now I'm supervising homework, then I need to run to the shops - tomorrow is the big Christmas craft day at DS1's school and I have volunteered to bring waffle batter - but we have no butter in the house. (Side note: Adding cinnamon and spiced rum to the batter was one of my more inspired moments.) Then we're off to the Advent party at DS2's creche (yes, an Advent party before the first Advent, but I digress) and after that a trip to the doctor to make sure DS2's hip infection is healing well.

I think we're going to do the turkey thing this weekend. Luckily we're celebrating small so I won't have to wrestle an American-sized turkey into a German-sized oven. Grin

Brilliant Cabin Pressure advent calendar Grin

SciFiFan · 29/11/2014 10:34

Love it a Frankel. By a happy coincidence I did actually listen to Abu Dhabi yesterday so will make sure I listen to Boston tiday Grin. Don't like the shouty guy making Martin cry though Sad.

Someone is doing pencil drawings on Tumblr as well.

So what do we think about the rumours swirling around the new Star Wars trailer? I've got to admit it does sound like BC to me, but others are claiming its Andy Serkis/Adam Driver/Max von Sydow depending on who you read!

SciFiFan · 29/11/2014 11:20

Andy Serkis is in the film so I think it's him. I wonder if BC has some sort of cameo though as he got really embarrassed and befuddled when Graham Norton was quizzing him on it.

He did confirm he had been to set. Maybe he's a storm trooper Grin.
