KateMumsnet · 15/07/2013 12:07

We're thrilled to announce that BlogFest '13 will take place on Saturday, 9th November at the suitably swish Kings Place in central London.

This year's BlogFest will be another glittering celebration of all there is to love about blogging, in the company of some of the most talented writers and bloggers around. So, whether you're a talented newbie or a seasoned hand - or a non-blogger who just wants to take part in some cracking discussions and debates - join us!

We'll have a high-octane programme, packed with fabulous speakers, gripping panel sessions and bespoke advice, to help you get the most from what you post. We'll hear from Dr Robert Winston, Prof Tanya Byron, and Richard Bacon, with style maven Louise Mensch and whip-smart commentator Glosswitch adding zest to the mix. Blogging dynamos A Girl Called Jack, Mammasaurus and Mummy Barrow will be sharing their blogging know-how, and we'll be announcing more speakers shortly - so Book now for a great Early Bird deal. But hurry, last year's tickets sold out in three weeks!

If you came to BlogFest '12, we'd love to see you again! Do share your memories here on the thread to give newbies a feel for the day - and if you didn't come last year but would like to join us in November, here's the place to post your wibbles questions, and connect with fellow attendees. Or take to Twitter, using the hashtag #blogfest.

Roll on BlogFest '13!

I won't be going. Blogging for me is all about me talking, not listening to other people.

katese11 · 22/07/2013 16:21

booked! Might need to increase that cake budget again....

Lucie1979 · 29/07/2013 18:57

Oh I would LOVE to come to this! Its my daughters 11th birthday :( Maybe a weekend in London?!

babybouncer · 31/07/2013 21:28

Very excited about going - but slightly scared I might not be able to hold my own surrounded by clever bloggers who post more than the once a fortnight I manage!

Can I get a 'be kind to me, I don't really know what I'm doing' badge, please?

Orli · 02/08/2013 18:22

I'm going, and it will be my first even of this kind, so am very excited / nervous...

Gusthetheatrecat · 06/08/2013 20:07

I'm going! I missed last year's, as my youngest was born at the end of October. Never been to anything like this before (snap, Orli!) and feeling a bit nervous and a bit excited...

LeCoinDeMel · 06/08/2013 22:01

Despite the fact I am not blogging (yet), I have just splashed out and booked my ticket! How exciting... and scary at the same time. I will definitely need a "newbie" badge, along with "please be nice to me", "talk to me", and anything else you can think of, people! I have been reading Jack Monroe, and I am really looking forward to seeing her in the flesh, and listening to her speak. Yippeeeeeee

janmary · 09/08/2013 19:39

I've booked and know NOONE going - so hope to get to know some others online beforehand.

I'll be travelling over from N Ireland on the Friday, and staying til the Sunday, so hoping maybe a few others will be around Friday evening?

My blog - www.janmary.com (if it's ok to link to it!

steph007 · 11/08/2013 12:57

Well I've not bought my ticket yet, still dithering - all looks fab but lot of money. Can anyone persuade me?! What I'd love to be able to do is match up my Twitter followers with blog names and see who else I will get chance to meet in person - though of course it'd be fab to make completely new connections too!!

SussexMummy · 11/08/2013 17:59

Hmmm... I am genuinely considering snapping up an Early Bird ticket though the costs still look expensive when I factor in train tickets. Do people successfully attend this sponsored by brands and companies as they do with Brit Mums and CybHer?

TheLondonMum · 02/09/2013 22:42

I'm so completely new to blogging having just started in July. Would this kind of event be worth it for me? or should I wait until next year after I have a bit of experience under my belt?

JessMumsnet · 16/09/2013 10:25

Hi TheLondonMum - sorry we missed your message earlier.

There really will be something for everyone, whatever stage of blogging you are at. If you're still fairly new to it all, sessions that might be of interest include social media for beginners, writing skills, using images to boost your posts plus there's chance to ask blogging experts for tips in Quick Fixes and the Blog Clinic.

We also hope you'd enjoy some of the great discussions taking place throughout the day and the chance to meet some other bloggers. Last year was a real social event and we're sure this one will be the same. We do hope you'll join us!

jes73 · 28/09/2013 22:36

Booked my ticket and can't wait. :)

Harrietsugden99 · 03/10/2013 19:11

Can anyone recommend a local babysitter and childminder in the Hale & Altrincham area please?
I have just moved to the area and need some help finding local information
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon
Harriet

MAD SCREAMING COMING FROM A HOUSE IN NORWICH.

Guess I'll see you guys there then. Y'know, at BlogFest13. If I feel like it. Might not bother. It's no big deal to have won a ticket

And heh, just because I like to be cruel at times... #MichaelGoves Cumface Just sayin'.

ViviPru · 08/10/2013 13:04

WON a ticket?! Wow well done! Not that I'm impressed or jealous much. You know. Jus' sayin.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 12/10/2013 20:57

Not by merit, purely by luck, obviously.

steph007 · 14/10/2013 14:03

I have a ticket for BlogFest13 which I've been told I can try and sell on here - I really need the cash to put towards a special needs conference I'd like to go to, so I'm hoping to be able to offer someone a bargain and help myself at the same time!! It was an earlybird ticket which cost me £75 (they are currently £95), but I'll go even better than that and would accept £60 for it.....?

steph007 · 21/10/2013 21:38

Just an update... I did manage to sell my ticket, so sorry I've not got one for sale any more...

Shamozal · 24/10/2013 20:59

After the excitement of deciding yes I could go, I'm talking serious excitement, like jumping up and down excitement. Flight booked, ticket bought, now frozen with fear at the idea of arriving and not knowing ANYONE. What's that about?

TheTwistedYarn · 02/11/2013 09:47

I've only just discovered Blogfest. (I'm a new and thoroughly clueless blogger.) Is it too late to sign up? Are any of the workshops booked up or is everything still available? And how do I get round the fact that the two workshops I really want to go to are running simultaneously? (ie the photography one and the one about monetizing your blog).

And how to avoid standing in a lonesome corner looking like a dishevelled wallflower on the day?

heirraising · 03/11/2013 22:44

Looking forward to meeting you all :) www.heirraising.com

JessMumsnet · 05/11/2013 11:01

Hi TheTwistedYarn - you're in luck! Still a few tickets left to buy, if you're quick!

You can attend any of the sessions throughout the day - and if you find two topics that take your fancy are clashing, you can book a slot with one of the experts in our Blog Cinic to fill in any gaps! (For example, the wonderful Carrie & Darren who are giving the photography session will also be available to chat one-on-one.)

No need to worry about not knowing anyone either - there's plenty of people in the same boat and they're a friendly bunch Grin. We hope to see you on Saturday!

AngryByrd · 05/11/2013 14:51

I want to go! but the tickets for this event are a bit steep especially since I can't make the full day. Are there any half day tickets available?

prozacpopsie · 06/11/2013 19:41

I'm gonna be a newbie there on Saturday.

Really wanna start my bloggie life but can't quite get the guts to.

(Lots of people said to me that blogging is a waste of time. Would love to hear your thoughts on that! [PP ducks and covers.])

Hoping that blogfest will give me the kick up the jacksie (and a bit of the confidence) that I really need - along with hearing/meeting some awesome people!
