How to react when a woman steals a husband after thirty years

How should one react when a younger model manages to entice an older bald, but just strangely very rich and powerful, husband from her best friend. Should I try to stay strong for her, but not get into any hatefest which always gravitates to the other woman.
Should I join in and almost engineer a night of maligning the cuckoo in what was my best friends nest.
It happened to me over ten years ago, my husband was enticed away by a younger model, this as it happens was the best thing that happened to me, which I did not appreciate at the time.
Should we ladies of older years just assume that an older powerful and rich man has the means to attract gold digging women with no morals or sense of any sisterhood and accept the consequences?

Your post makes no sense whatsoever - I suspect wine.

I think she is probably drunk.

GoblinGranny · 21/04/2013 16:11

You can't steal a husband from someone, the husband makes an active choice.

RRollypoofoo · 21/04/2013 16:12

Am completely sober are you drunk?? Can't you read???

SPsYoniTheOneAndOnly · 21/04/2013 16:14

He wasn't stolen be left willingly

CajaDeLaMemoria · 21/04/2013 16:14

No. You should simply choose better husbands, who won't run off with younger women because they massage his ego.

FYI, you'll get a better response in chat or relationships rather than bloggers.

RRollypoofoo · 21/04/2013 16:15

GoblinGranny gets it. Quite right you can't steal someone, but if they are married surely you should stay away.

What Goblin said

purrpurr · 21/04/2013 16:15

You can't steal a husband, a husband is not a mindless object wandering around with his penis aloft before him like a dowsing rod, seeking a willing home, clean shirts and a gravy dinner. Pete's sake. Perpetuating stereotypes that don't help anyone.

RRollypoofoo · 21/04/2013 16:16

Am new to all this and thankyou Caja, should have started this in chat.

What is your post about????

Your turn (hint: you need six question marks)

NotTreadingGrapes · 21/04/2013 16:16

No, if they are married, they should stay away.

Fuxache what is it with the married-men thing this weekend?

BasilBabyEater · 21/04/2013 16:16

A woman can't "steal" a husband.

Any more than a man can "steal" a wife.

People aren't property.

A man who has decided to leave his wife has made his own choices. He's not a passive piece of furniture who can be "enticed", he has to be willing to be enticed.

"Gold digging women" can only attract men who don't value the women they're with, but value the "gold digging women" more highly.

FGS, allow men to be responsible for their own values, beliefs and choices can't you. Just as women are responsible for their's.

OrbisNonSufficit · 21/04/2013 16:18

What Goblin said. And then purrpurr made me laugh by putting in a different way.

RRollypoofoo · 21/04/2013 16:18

A man doesn't leave a sinking ship without a lifeboat.

OP posts:
purrpurr · 21/04/2013 16:20

Did you just call his wife a sinking ship? And the replacement woman, a lifeboat? ??? I need more choccie digestives before I can even figure this one out, stay right there OP.

RRollypoofoo · 21/04/2013 16:21

Purr Purr perhaps thats just what they turn into when they get old and have their mid life crisis. They are led by their rod!!!!!!!!!!!!! (enough !!!!????)BOF

Apologies to you all for a strange beginning, but it got us all going at least.

purrpurr · 21/04/2013 16:22

Are you allowed unmonitored use of a PC, poofoo? Hmm I think I'll take me bikkies and tea elsewhere...

usualsuspect · 21/04/2013 16:24

I've never been in bloggers before. It's nice and comfy in here.

AnnieLobeseder · 21/04/2013 16:26

Well, I consider my husband to be a fully rational adult, so should he choose to leave me, that will be his decision and that is entirely where the blame will lie. The younger woman is irrelevant. Perhaps she has dubious morals, that's her problem (and will probably come back to bite her in the arse when he leaves her for yet another younger model).

There's no sisterhood about this, apart from you supporting your friend who is probably very upset right now. Some men are dicks, as are some women. People come in good and bad varieties, unfortunately.

WandaDoff · 21/04/2013 16:26

eh??????????

TheHerringScreams · 21/04/2013 16:26

Ooh, never been in this topic before.

And, to XPost with everyone else, your husband wasn't stolen. He chose to go himself. It was his fault too.

PrideOfChanur · 21/04/2013 16:27

Weird. Agree - you can't steal a person. And said older powerful rich man can just say no to golddigger.
Are you implying the marriage is a sinking ship? In which case the solution is to sort that (for both partners)
