Exxopolis

On Friday we went to see Exxopolis, the Luminarium that we helped to make during Mammasaurus Blog's Blog It For Babies challenge.

I have tried to explain to people what a Luminarium is and I have failed. I thought that after I had seen the completed sculpture I would be able to describe it better but I was wrong. It is impossible to fully explain what it is as it is like nothing else!

I tried to take photographs of the Luminarium but I could not capture its greatness. Instead I used my video camera but I still think that it does not come close to showing you how amazing this sculpture is!

Anyone interested in joining in a bloghop to raise awareness of the Gates Foundation / Dfid project to give 120m women worldwide access to family planning services.

Being able to decide how many children she wishes to have and with which age gap, means that women are less likely to suffer complications in pregnancy, it reduces unsafe abortions and child and maternal mortality.

We are asking bloggers to join us in writing about their experiences of using contraception. What has it meant for you - personally and professionally to be able to take control of your fertility.

This all leads up to the Family Planning Summit in July.

More info here - be ready to post blog on TUES 19th JUNE - after my first blog post from Kenya, where I will join 11 other bloggers from around the world to report from the 'front line'.
