Bloggers Network - Miscarriage Week - Guest Posts - Open for Non-Bloggers to Tell Their Stories

MmeLindor. · 30/09/2011 14:34

Some have offered on the other thread to host guest posts on their blogs.

This thread is to match up blogs with guest posters.

You may be a blogger, but the theme does not match in with your blog, or perhaps you are not a blogger but feel strongly about this and would like to get your story out there.

So please post here if you would like to host a guest post.

And those who are interested in writing, have a look at the blogs and contact the bloggers, either on the thread or via PM.

I will do a blog post about my own experiences, but am happy to host a blogger (or non blogger).

Hi,
I would love to host a post (or posts, if need be) on my blog: aliciajduffy.blogspot.com/ and I will do a post from a kind of policy point of view too. Posters can be anonymous if they like.

Also, with permission obviously, I would like to write a post including quotes from other people for somewhere like Think Left.

My blog is about social policy, mental health, benefits and politics, so if your story particulary fits more than one of those, that is great, but I'm also trying to put across the human side of policy, so any story is fine. Don't worry if you don't feel you can write it out very well, I can help you if you want.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/09/2011 16:02

Mme I have already blogged about mine but will bump it up and repost when we do this. Also happy to host a guest post, or as many as are needed. Is there going to be a specific date that we do this? Or week?

Should there be a standard intro paragraph or conclusion paragraph to link to the MN campaign?

Finally do you think there should be a linky thingy like on some other blog hops?

Tee2072 · 30/09/2011 19:51

I am going to do my own post and also happy to host a guest.

MmeL do you want to post this to chat so that it gets more traffic? Not a lot of people view the blogging topic, I wouldn't think!

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about this subject:

Petite
It will be in October, the week after next.

Yes, good idea to have a standard text. I will ask MNHQ if we should suggest something

And will do the blog hop doodah, if I can work out how to do it.

Tee
Will post a link in chat.

Thanks MmeL, you are so organised Smile. I have started writing so looking for a host as my own blog is not the right place for it (although I will try to work out a suitable way to link if poss and will tweet/fb).

MmeLindor. · 30/09/2011 20:36

Have posted a thread on chat and linked to here.

Breadfortheboys
You are welcome to do a post for my blog. I think I will do daily posts that week.

Maybe we should do a blog hop like the Save The Children one, where we just keep adding more and more bloggers. They had over 140 posts in the end, I think.

Bogeyface · 30/09/2011 20:39

I have 6 children and have lost 13 babies, one being my DDs twin. My treatment has been mixed but the comments made to me by HCP about losing my DDs twin in particular varied from the wonderfully thoughtful and kind to the most appallingly cruel.

I would appreciate being hosted as I feel that I would like to share my experiences.

CBear6 · 30/09/2011 20:40

I'm a big supporter of this campaign because some of the practices out there really are shocking, I'll write something about my experiences to go on a blog. How many words, when by, who do I send it to, and can I keep my RL name off it?

Tee2072 · 30/09/2011 20:43

CBear, as many words as you want, no name necessary, pick one of us that you like the look of and send it to us, it's being done the week of 10th October.

Bogeyface
God, that is horrible. Poor you.

If you would have a look on the thread that I linked to and select a blog where you would like to post. PM the blogger and arrange with her.

I don't think that we should set an amount of words - it should be your words, your feelings, your emotions.

Of course you can stay anonymous. And you don't even have to have it linked to your MN name.

Oh, ignore me. This is the thread that I linked to. I am getting confused.

OP posts:
breadfortheboys · 30/09/2011 21:14

Thanks MmeL, just getting my Mum to check what I've written.

Gosh Bogeyface, so sorry.

Bogeyface · 30/09/2011 21:42

Thanks.

I realised that my womb needs a warm up before it can carry to full term, and thats how I have managed to square it with myself. I have only got 5 "official" mc because I dont see the doctor until I have passed the 7 week mark as all of my MC apart from the twin one was around 6 weeks. I believe very strongly in souls. And I believe that the souls of my babies are part of the souls of my children, that helps too.

I did have a few "basket case" moments over the years but in the main I am ok with what happened. There are reasons for it and beating myself up wont bring them back. I dont mean to sound callous, my heart has broken everytime it has happened, but I feel that being positive is more helpful to my MH and to the family I am blessed to have than dwelling on the negatives.

Dont forget that my childbearing years have been longer than most too. I had my first baby almost 21 years ago and my most recent was 17 weeks ago. I have been pg 18 times so statistically I am going to have lost more.

I do still cry sometimes though...........

MmeLindor. · 30/09/2011 21:59

Bogeyface
That is heartbreaking. I have had three miscarriages, and cannot imagine going through again and again. Am so glad that your DC made it. And congratulations on the youngest.

MmeLindor - thanks for posting this. I will add to my watch list and come back to it. (I have a chest infection and dont want to get upset before bed)

MmeLindor. · 30/09/2011 22:52

Thanks Chick. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I should get time tomorrow when DS goes down for his nap and DH can see to DD. I'm thick of baby blues right now, have cried at the Sainsbury's advert and a cheese sandwich today, so will need to be in the right frame of mind before doing anything.

Bogeyface, I can't think of anything to say except that you are extraordinarily strong. I've had two (one first trimester, one second trimester) and can't even fathom coping with 13. Congratulations on your 17w old :)

Bogeyface · 03/10/2011 11:46

I have been thinking over the weekend and actually I dont feel able to write about it just yet. I am not strong, I just dont think about it and confronting it now has made me realise that I dont want to think about it.

Thanks for your kind words though :)

Bogeyface · 03/10/2011 11:46

And I should also have said sorry for letting you down.

breadfortheboys · 03/10/2011 13:40

Bogeyface I don't think anyone will think you have let anyone down. You've been through more than most people dare imagine xxx

PetiteRaleuse · 03/10/2011 13:47

Oh my goodness why on earth would you think you had let anyone down? I hink everyone recognises it is a tricky subject and I can imagine for you that you think about it more than enough already xx

MmeLindor. · 03/10/2011 19:10

Don't for one second think that you have let anyone down, Bogeyface. I am fully aware how difficult a topic this is and how raw the wounds still can be, even after many years have passed.

Take care of yourself.

BuxomWenchOnAPony · 03/10/2011 19:37

I clicked no on the survey, but actually wouldn't mind sharing if anyone wants me to! I had a second trimester missed miscarriage at 18 weeks, which I understand is quite rare. I had a 'medically managed' miscarriage and delivered a tiny little boy. My experience of the hospital staff was both horrific (doctor) and wonderful (specialist nurse, follow up care). When I was admitted to another hospital after getting an infection a few days later my stay there was pure nightmare material.
Not sure if you want to know any of this, but would be happy to write about it if it might be of interest to anyone.

MmeLindor. · 03/10/2011 20:07

If you would like to have a look at the posters on this thread who have said that they will host a guest post - you can look at their blogs if you would like to get a "feel" for them. Then PM one of them and arrange when you should send your blog post.

You can write as much or as little as you like.

breadfortheboys · 03/10/2011 21:20

MmeL sent mine to you via FB x
