Would you GOF if your inlaws are staying?

Inlaws are staying with us for a week - they go home on Tuesday. DH and I are ttc and today my ClearBlue Fertility Monitor gave me a high and I got a +ve on an OPK this afternoon. DH has responded by saying that he's not having a GOF with his parents in the house. Just wondered whether other people do or not with parents staying? I'm not sure what I'd do if it were my parents - they live close enough that we don't have that issue!
Let's hope that Tuesday will still be timing it ok!

Pretend you are teenagers - might be fun trying not to get caught Wink

NonnoMum · 29/08/2010 21:37

Oh - just go for it! But keep the noise down!

Bacofoil · 29/08/2010 21:39

What's a GOF?

Is it a good ole fuck?

onepieceoflollipop · 29/08/2010 21:44

Say you are going to bed to "watch television". This will give you an excuse if you/he are feeling shy to put the telly on as background noise.

Either that or give them plenty to drink this evening and then wait til you hear them snoring. Grin

Poledra · 29/08/2010 21:45

We do - but quietly! Have been known to shag on the floor in PIL's house, as the bed we get there is mighty squeaky!

essenceofSES · 29/08/2010 21:49

Bacofoil - yup, exactly what it is Grin

Telly in the background is a v good idea!

Well DH has now gone to bed as he says he is v tired. I did wonder whether that was a cue for an "early night" so went to check but no, he was being grumpy and said he was tired. To be fair, he had done a bbq for my parents and his parents today and started paintin the ceiling and walls in our kitchen extension!

V impressed with how many of you brave it. Not so impressed with the realisation that I'm sharing our sex life with the world!

Seriously, what does it stand for?

I am hopelessly behind the times. Please help.

NonnoMum · 29/08/2010 21:51

You are MARRIED! It is allowed... you're not doing it in front of them, are you, like performing seals? Just remember to balance the beach ball on your nose...

Bacofoil · 29/08/2010 21:51

oh x posts, sorry

Is he a screamer?

Eglu · 29/08/2010 21:52

God, yes! When GPs are staying we get to have a lie in. Wink

Bacofoil · 29/08/2010 21:52

NonnoMum what kind of pervy show did you see at Seaworld?

FallingWithStyle · 29/08/2010 21:53

GOF??
I've never heard that before. Is it a weirdy ttc acronym?

hellooo · 29/08/2010 21:54

can't believe I'm admitting this but we had an identical dilemma but it was a friend of mine staying in the next room.

In the end, DH did his business in a receptacle then came downstairs and I went up and, you know.

I conceived DD that month Shock

NonnoMum · 29/08/2010 21:59

BLIMEY! DD2 was conceived when we were hosting a Kazak student in the next bedroom. Never even considered that it might be impolite to have sex in our house, in our own room, in our own bed whilst someone else was under the same roof.

And we called her Boratina.

Bacofoil · 29/08/2010 21:59

my god hellooo I bet your dd is the only baby on mn to have been conceived while her parents were on different floors of the house

onepieceoflollipop · 29/08/2010 22:01

At the risk of tmi I would say that I am able to have sex/gof with my dh very quietly. I/we do prefer to make a bit of noise but if necessary (as in your circumstances) then it is possible to be almost silent.

Who is likely to make the noise? If it is me then I just bury my mouth in dh's shoulder at any vital moments and the noise is much reduced. Wink

NonnoMum · 29/08/2010 22:02

hellooo wouldn't it have been more embarrassing for your houseguest to have walked in on DH have a sneaky hand-shandy than to have possibly overheard a married couple expressing their lurve for each other in a physical way (as your Sunday School teacher may have called a GOF).

AllSheepareWhite · 29/08/2010 22:03

Just go for it, we were living with MIL when DD conceived and she slept in the next room.

hellooo · 29/08/2010 22:04

Nonnomum,

Dh was in our bedroom at the time and I was watching TV downstairs with her. Very unlikely that she would have wandered into our bedroom for no reason!!

essenceofSES · 29/08/2010 22:05

hellooo - Shock and congratulations!!

We can limit our noise but err.. the bed can be a bit noisy... May have to suggest improvising on the floor.

Anyway, as I said, DH is fast asleep now so not going to happen tonight and I'm out at my SIL-to-be's hen do tomorrow night. Have to hope ov hangs on and Tues is ok!

Guess I was just interested to know how other people felt about this. Seem to be pretty unanimous that you just ignore them and get on with it! Grin

Bacofoil · 29/08/2010 22:05

lol Nonnomum

hellooo did you call your dd Belle-Amy? Grin

that will make no sense if you've never seen upstairs downstairs

which you are almost certainly too young for

PS Enjoy the XXX show at Seaworld Nonno

hellooo · 29/08/2010 22:06
Grin

Friend was only here for one night so it could have been that occasion or any of the multiple other shags around that time.

We'll never know....

NonnoMum · 29/08/2010 22:06

But didn't she notice the turkey baster in the sink the next morning?

hellooo · 29/08/2010 22:07

Harrumph.

Twas not a turkey baster.

Was one of those things you use for administering pre-seed.

Now I'll get my coat...
