Don't worry I'm not going to share my handle to try and get followers but I understand there are some strong views on this so thought I'd do a AMA.

I don't have a huge following, I have about 35k followers across Instagram and Tiktok.

I mainly share family travels and real life content. Very natural, no filters, honest wobbly real life.

Do you feature your children in your content?

Do you have your own page on Tattle? If so, do you comment on it?

Dinoswearunderpants · 30/10/2025 16:55

Yes I do feature my child and I have debated whether to do this many times. For now, we do share his face but if he ever said no then we'd stop. He's aged 4.

I doubt I have a page on Tattle. I'm really not that interesting so it still blows my mind we people follow our adventures.

How do you make money (if anything) from doing this?

sciaticafanatica · 30/10/2025 16:59

Why do you do it?
what made you decide to do it?
do you make a living from it?
do you think you will regret in the future using your child for content?

Uuuui · 30/10/2025 17:05

I work in the industry but as an editor rather than a creator, so I see and feel the affects of trying creators trying chase views, do you struggle with that as your content is about your real life? The pressure of what to do or what to film and how that gels with real life decisions?

you said you’d stop if your ds said no more would that include deleting all old videos (and losing out on revenue?)

PracticallyPeapod · 30/10/2025 17:09

Views go down if a post is marked as an ad. The algorithm doesn’t like it. Do you always declare ads?

PattiRandall · 30/10/2025 17:11

A four year old has absolutely no concept of what you are doing and whether it is something he should agree to or not. Giving him agency in this situation (“if he said no we’d stop”) is only an attempt to give yourself a get-out if/when he ever objected in the future (but you loved it darling and you never told us to stop!)

He is four. It is never, ever going to be in a four year olds best interests to be used for content.

JudgeBread · 30/10/2025 17:12

How do you feel knowing paedophiles now have open access to images and footage of your child forever? Does it concern you knowing they can download and keep these images for whatever purposes they choose? Does the idea of AI deepfakes of your child being made by these people not terrify you?

EuroTour · 30/10/2025 17:14

Is 35k enough to be anything? Surely anyone who posts on insta is a 'content creator? I've got around 90k followers and don't consider mine anything other than a hobby blog (and never featured any of my children or grandchildren)

Doseofreality · 30/10/2025 17:18

Are you one of those annoying dicks who fllms other people for content, if so what gives you the right to invade other people’s privacy?

VivienneDelacroix · 30/10/2025 17:20

Do you constantly buy more and more "stuff" to make content and stay relevant?

KingscoteStaff · 30/10/2025 17:20

Why do we need you?

strawberrymadam · 30/10/2025 17:22

When was the exact point you thought - I’m going to share this with the world?

CrimsonStoat · 30/10/2025 17:23

How much money do you make?

ramonaquimby · 30/10/2025 17:25

4y olds aren't going to say no, they won't understand. Not really his choice is it?

Aintnosunshinenowitsgone · 30/10/2025 17:29

what is it that you do that attracts people to engage? I ask as someone that follows 1 person.

TheDenimPoet · 30/10/2025 17:41

Do you find that you get a lot of stuff for free? I'm on TikTok and have quite a decent following, and just recently I've been getting SO many offers for free stuff. I've been accepting (and then posting the promo vids of course) but I'm almost at the point where I'll have to be - shock horror - selective.

It's insane to me that people just send me things, some quite expensive!

IndieRocknRoll · 30/10/2025 17:46

Is 35k followers enough to make any money?
I know someone who has 90k followers and she gets lots free stuff. It’s at the point now where she picks & chooses. She also charges a fee on top as otherwise the time it takes to make the videos, edit them etc just isnt worth it.
It takes up a huge chunk of her free time and if I’m honest I think her kids have really missed out as she’s constantly on her phone.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 30/10/2025 17:50

Why would you put your Childs face on the Internet? He's four, you're meant to make choices to protect him and instead you've allowed paedophiles access to him - have you looked into AI and how that is used to create indecent images of children?

Dinoswearunderpants · 30/10/2025 17:59

I'll try and reply all at once.

  1. I don't do it for the money, anything I make goes in the holiday fund or to my son. It's a hobby but brands will provide the product and sometimes a payment to share a post. They usually pay anything between £50-500. Some people make a lot more though. Also you can sell on tiktok shop. I made a few thousand on that but its over populated now.
  1. I started it to try and make some mummy friends when I was pregnant. One of my closest friends I met on instagram.
  1. I share things to try and help others. It's never 'look at me' more this product is really helpful or here's tips when travelling with a toddler. I get to travel often and I know not many do so I do sometimes worry about that perception however I work hard for my salary and allowed to spend it however we like.
  1. I used to be obsessed with views/engagement. I was part of all these fake groups for likes/comments and hated the pressure off it. It was never genuine so now I just post what I like. It's upsetting when you spend good time creating something to only get a few hundred views but that's how it goes.
  1. I'd hate to delete the videos as that's also our memories. I'd ask to make it private or I'd download all the videos. No issue with revenue as its all just extra pocket money.
  1. Yes views are often shocking on Ads but I always declare. I hate seeing other creators share things that are clearly an ad but they don't declare it. I think its really unfair to do that.
  1. I was waiting for the pedo question. AI is do advanced these days, they don't need pictures of children online. A close friend works very high up in the Met in this area and he said they rarely find real photos of children unless its a family member. It's all AI.

I'm so pleased that's how you do things. You're right, anyone could be classed as a content creator.

No. I often decline gifted collaborations unless its something I need/want. In the beginning I took anything free. It makes me laugh the stuff I'd share.

A 4 year old is hardly able to consent are they….they don’t know why they are saying yes to

so let’s be first here you are exploiting your child for £ / attention
