Well I dont know how because for my training I had to supply all my qualifications and they needed to see I had a first in my masters as well, and contact all my employers to look into my experience. You can't get on an ADOS-2 training course easily. They literally wouldn't let me on it until I showed evidence on my first class Msc.

Many SALT, OTS, medics are also ADOS trained - having worked on several assessments teams, social workers are an amazing addition but not common. I don’t understand how you aren’t aware of that?
It’s unusual to say you’re the best professional at it, the whole point of a multidisciplinary approach is to have expertise from a lot of areas and having a mix of expertise is invaluable. Also as you know, being qualified in the ADOS is not enough - it’s only a tool. Finally, within the UK, diagnoses need a psychologist or medic to sign off - they are the member of the team who can diagnosis and who hold clinical responsibility.

If you want a thorough, in depth assessment that is reliable and conducted properly by a Psychiatrist then it sounds like you need to go through local NHS services, sadly. It sounds like the RTC are able to provide an assessment so soon as they are doing them by a social worker via zoom. It's not reliable, not appropriate and sometimes outright dangerous.

I suspect in the future any diagnosis done via zoom or by a random mdt member will be declared invalid and will need to join the NHS waiting list to be reassessed. Hopefully the NHS will be able to claw back some of this money, fraudulently stolen by snake-oil salesmen.

There was nothing in-depth or thorough about my daughter’s NHS assessment. It was an absolute farce.

Was it your local NHS provider (where you live) or via right to choose? Reading back your posts it seems like you were seen quite quickly, so I imagine RTC. If not, would you mind sharing the area?

If it's right to choose, there are lots of very poor quality providers taking NHS money for substandard assessments

And how long did it take for them to see you?

@RainbowZebraWarrior only just reading this thread, bit fantastic post, thank you. Agree with everything! I'm a teacher with two ND kids, one not is school anymore and one moving up to secondary in September and I am so torn over the education system he's going into.

If I remember rightly it was about two years. It was a complete waste of time to be honest.
