This topic was incredibly popular on another social media site so I thought I would open it up here!

Im an Advanved Nurse Practitioner that assesses, diagnoses and treats ADHD. I have ADHD, and my daughter has ADHD.

if you have any questions about right to choose, assessments, treatments, or just ADHD in general ask away!

My DS is on the Right to Choose waiting list. He cannot cope with managing life, washing, tidying, finances etc. He's a young adult and I fear will never be able to live independently. Is there any hope with diagnosis and support that he could learn to manage himself?
He's so clever but is so overwhelmed by life.

Is it worth trying to get assessed at the age of 50 if you’re fairly high achieving and happy (top of career but always felt I didn’t quite end up doing something I love), but can see inattentive traits in yourself all the time - chronically late, always loosing things, find it hard to concentrate on certain tasks, life long nail biter, cheek chewer, super chatty, very messy house, constant stream of chatty thoughts in my mind, extreme irritation with certain noises, funding it impossible to follow verbal directions, easily distracted, task overwhelm, food noise (sorted with jabs now thank goodness!) etc…

Would a diagnosis help?
