PostTummyTuck · 18/10/2020 10:16

Also had liposuction and a small repair to a tear in stomach muscle. I'm bored now so if anyone has any questions....AMA and if I can answer, I will!

I has one on the 11th lol x

Have you told people in RL?

How have people reacted? I think you look great btw.

Nicelunch25 · 23/10/2020 14:26

Is it more or less painful than a section? How long will you not be able to run for?

Nicelunch25 · 23/10/2020 14:28

The painkillers already sound better than that given for a section. I was chucked some paracetamol the day after and expected to get out of bed and have a shower.

I've literally told everyone I know! Hence me trying (and failing!) to keep a separate username for this thread! 😆

Everyone has been supportive apart from one who was like 'you don't need one!'.

It's less invasive than a c-section as it's 'only' skin getting cut whereas with a section it's muscle too. I was also pain free with the sections as I took all the pain relief I was offered and kept ontop of it for a good week or so after. And I have a very low pain threshold! Mobility wise I'd say it the same. It's a bit of a struggle getting up and down from the toilet/bed/sofa/car seat etc.

@PostTummyTuck yeah I'm feeling good. The recovery has been better than I expected. I'm still quite swollen Confused

That's bad! I had co-codamol after all my sections and TT. Same strength too.

That can take a while to go down completely I think. I'm drinking as much water as I can and keeping as mobile as possible.

Forgot to answer the bit about running. I've been told no lower body workouts for 6-8 weeks. I'll see what the surgeon says when I see him again in 5 weeks. I would hope to start easing myself back into it after Christmas/new year though.

Did you consider going outside the UK?

Babypug · 23/10/2020 15:44

I'm also looking to get a tummy tuck, 2 sections here and it's really getting me down. I'm not on social media but I hate looking in the mirror and won't take pictures with the family as I'm so embarrassed.

Can I ask why the drain hurt to come out? Also did they try and talk you out of it or if there any reason they would have refused to do it?

I'm really squeamish! I'm finding it hard to read about it online and look at pictures/ videos. However my friend works at a private hospital and has offered to help with questions where they perform the surgery.

It was Mr. Maisam Fazel, through The Private Clinic of Harley Street. He specialises in tummy tucks, liposuction and boob jobs. He has an Instagram page if you want to see any of his other work.

Only very briefly. I didn't fancy being that far away and would rather recover in my own home. And the husband has done an excellent job of looking after me! 🥰

I'm really squeamish! I'm finding it hard to read about it online and look at pictures/ videos. However my friend works at a private hospital and has offered to help with questions where they perform the surgery.

The drain was about 10-12 inches long, about the circumstance of a drinking straw and made of a hard but flexible plastic. The nurse had to cut a couple of stitches before pulling it out. It really stung! It was the worst bit of the whole procedure but lasted a few seconds.

Like you, I'm also very squeamish! Maybe that's why it was so bad for me! Apparently all the colour drained out of my face. The room went a bit spinny and I almost fainted! I had some morphine straight after and I was fine within a couple of minutes. I also nearly passed out just looking and the wounds on Wednesday. 😆

Forgot to answer this. They asked why I wanted the procedure which I answered in detail. I think it was obvious from the conversation I had with them that I had multiple reasons for wanting it and was able to explain that to them.

I was asked about diet, exercise etc and it was mentioned that if my weight wasn't regulated they wouldn't do it. My weight had been more or less the same for probably around 18 months prior to me approaching the clinic. So I think if you're someone who's weight fluctuates a lot or you're still in the process of losing weight, they likely wont do it. There may be other reasons but that was the only one that came up during my meeting with the surgeon.

Thank you that's really helpful!
Wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope you will post some pictures when you feel ready. I'm very jealous but it's made me realise I can do it!

CherryRipe1 · 23/10/2020 17:44

Good for you! It looks great and you'll be chuffed you had it done. I had lipo 20 years ago for stubborn fat and never regretted it especially ridding myself of the Michellin tyre lady look around the belly.

Oblomov20 · 23/10/2020 17:49

Goodness that really does look sore. I have bad overhang from 2 c-sections, but it doesn't really bother me. Your overhang wasn't that bad to start with!

Alternista · 23/10/2020 18:06

Thanks for this OP. I’ve lost 3 stone (And has two c/secs) and look v similar to your before pic. Still got a bit more to go but maybe I’ll start saving, cos the skin on my lower tummy is just fucked.... keep updating us?

I can't wait for it to be properly healed! Part of the lipo I had done was the panel running from the bust line down to bellybutton. No matter how much weight I lose that just won't shift! Also had the sides done at the surgeons recommendation. It helped with contouring once the excess skin was removed and then pulled down.

It's a little sore this evening on the side where the drain was removed....just realised I've not had any paracetamol since around 8am! It's not too uncomfortable but I'll probably take something soon so it's not niggling come bedtime.

I have seen worse overhangs in all fairness, however my was bad enough for me to want it done. I've seen before pics where I've thought their overhang was way better than mine!

The bruising has been really itchy today! Can't even have a good scratch due to all the support garments! 😆
