@UniqueMeta how far along are you now? Good luck x

Oddgirlout · 23/07/2018 07:58

This is a lovely story. I had hyperemesis so can’t imagine not knowing. I didn’t even need to take a preg test, I could tell before it was the right time to take one!

UniqueMeta · 23/07/2018 11:12

@firsttimer2018 I'm just over 25 weeks. Still having regular scans. You can always try calling ARC? I found them to be excellent and they can give you all your options for antenatal testing later on in pregnancy. Saves a bit of anxiety whilst waiting to see midwife etc.

Thank you! Best of luck. You're going to be absolutely fine Thanks

OP my question is, have you ever thought about it and felt lucky that you "skipped" 2/3 of your pregnancy? I wanted to have a child so it's a bit different to you who originally didn't, but I would have loved to wake up one day having skipped over the whole pregnancy and all its unpleasantness.

Lottapianos · 24/07/2018 06:32

Wow SharpLily, that must have been petrifying. Yet another example of doctors not listening to women and not taking our concerns seriously. So glad you got the right outcome for you in the end

SharpLily · 24/07/2018 11:21

Thank you for being kind about it, @Lottapianos :). I'm sure a lot of people won't agree with the choice I made and it's something I try to avoid thinking about these days because I feel rather bitter about the whole episode.

Oddly enough, when many years later I went on to have children, including various miscarriages, I knew without a doubt when I was pregnant every time, even before my period was due, and my subsequent pregnancies have been completely different.

Sorry, I seem to have killed the thread a bit.

Lottapianos · 24/07/2018 12:32

It was your choice to make, that's the point. Abortion needs to be available as early as possible, and as late as necessary. It's a shame you had to cause such a fuss in order to get what you wanted, but I'm glad it worked out for you

firsttimer2018 · 24/07/2018 19:38

@Lottapianos
You had to do what was right for you in your situation

I hope everything worked out for you x

Lottapianos · 24/07/2018 19:41

Luckily I've never had to make that choice Firsttimer2018. After a very rocky road I decided not to have children so yes, everything worked out fine Smile

firsttimer2018 · 24/07/2018 20:16

@Lottapianos sorry that was meant for @SharpLily

baby brain!!!

Lottapianos · 24/07/2018 20:16

Oh I see Grin

firsttimer2018 · 26/07/2018 14:49

I had my '20 week' scan but I am a lot further on than that and so there are 'limits' to what they can see but they said they don't think there's anything to worry about. I would like more reassurance but I think that's as much as I'm going to get. Very anxious and wish I could be happy as I want the baby so much. Just so worried
