What the heck can I do to get him investigated without my children knowing it was me or involving them??

Honestly, we're not a massive fan of anonymous reports. Anyone can call up and tell us anything - how do we know whether it's malicious or genuine? In the case of your ex, I'd say that chances are officers are probably aware of what he's upto, it's just the need for evidence. An anonymous report might make up a small bit of the intelligence but it's incredibly unlikely that that alone will get us a warrant or the grounds to enter his property.

vivarium I'll be honest, I don't know the ins and outs of what is admissible in court and what isn't. I don't believe the people doing it are completely altruistic though - they could just as easily hand over the evidence to police and get the same outcome. Their need to live stream it says to me its more about recognition for themselves than it is anything else.

PCAMA - Sorry to keep pushing and asking, I dont want it to turn into one annoying person asking you anything!!
So lack of evidence, I totally get that and now the kids aren't going anymore there is little chance of me gathering anything.
From a non tax paying view, how is this person sustaining themselves route would that have any merit for investigation? Ie.. person hasn't worked for 13 years, claims no benefit, isn't self employed or paying tax...surely someone can't just deposit cash every month into an account without it going unnoticed? Or can it?! He's no Al Capone, lives far from a luxurious lifestyle hes in a rented house, cheap car

It sounds pathetic to want him to go down, but my son is very work shy, believes and quotes back things his Dad has said (i'm too good to sweep floor, bosses are stupid they shouldn't be my boss if i'm brighter than them) and I need him to see that there really is only so long you can get away with a life of crime before it catches up with you, and ideally through prison and not his Dad getting killed, of which there have been a couple of near misses

AmI The HMRC would be the ones to investigate non payment of tax, then if they found evidence of other potential criminal offences they could pass that to us.

Another rozzer here Smile

The other thing that happened locally was a group of paedophile hunters stopped a bloke at his work. They had posed as a 14 year old boy and this guy had arranged to meet "him". They confronted him on FB live and gave the evidence they had to the police. He was arrested. Is that a helpful thing for the police? Can you use the evidence they have gleaned in court?

I dealt with one of these situations a few weeks ago. I don’t know the outcome as Safeguarding took over. The experience I had was incredibly frustrating. The group were happy to stand around in their logo hoodies, getting a zillion likes on their life Facebook stream for getting a ‘nonce off the streets’ Hmm But when it came to actually coming to the station to give a statement, one person turned up.

As it’s happened she was the person who had been posing as the child and to be fair to her, her motivation seemed entirely genuine. She was a decent person. What she hadn’t been told by the ‘boss’ of the set up was we’d need to seize her computer. Or that she’d have to attend four. They were no where to be seen Hmm

However the interchange between the ‘girl’ and suspect would be perfectly valid evidentially and tbh it’s a shame the police don’t have the resources so a team can do this legitimately

What's you favourite nickname for the police? I quite like bizzies/busies...it's quite gentle!

Was the TV series 'The Bill' realistic (if you ever watched it)?

Well I never had the time (even if I had the inclinication) or dense enough dispatchers to be able to say ‘cover for me!’ and sneak off to conduct some shenanigans in work time
