How I tested

I wore the Two Bare Feet Elemental Changing Robe to the beach, which is conveniently located 5 minutes' walk from my house. After taking a dip in the chilly English Channel, I quickly put the changing robe on, assessing its warmth, absorbency and how easy it was to get dry and changed under. I cross-compared the changing robes with other style I have tested, including the Rapanui Women's Changing Robe and the Vivida All Weather Puffer Changing Robe.

My verdict

What struck me most about this changing robe is just how lightweight it felt to wear, compared to the other changing robes I've tested. The outer shell has a nice matte, rubbery feel, very different to the more rustly finish on the Dryrobe or Frostfire Moonwrap.

Inside, the Two Bare Feet Elemental is lined with a fine, soft fleece. Despite its weight, it's just as cosy as other changing robes, as it's waterproof and windproof to keep out any chills, draughts or leaks.

After a swim in the sea, it brought me instant warmth when I put it on, and was roomy enough to get changed under. However, if you prefer to get changed when you're home, it's worth noting the fleece lining on this changing robe isn't very absorbent, and stuck to the skin on my legs when wet.

At £70, this is one of the best-value changing robes in the UK right now, and I was really impressed with the quality and weatherproofing of the changing robe. There's no big logo on the back, just the brand's name on one side of the front. With ten colours to choose from and tween to adult sizes available, there's an Elemental to suit everyone.

It comes complete with a waterproof inner pocket to keep your phone and keys in, as well as a little notch for wired earphones. The outer pockets are deep and fleece-lined, with sturdy zips.

All in all, this is a brilliant changing robe for the price - and the best around if you're looking for something more lightweight than a Dryrobe. While it won't keep you warm in extreme conditions like the Vivida Puffer Changing Robe, it'll warm you up after a wild swim and keep the rain out on a drizzly dog walk.

Is the Two Bare Feet Elemental Changing Robe warm and waterproof?

The changing robe has a 10k waterproof rating (which means it can withstand heavy UK downpours without leaking), fully sealed seams and a windproof design - so it's brilliantly designed for British weather conditions and won't let in a draught or leak at the seams.

The 150GSM sherpa fleece lining is quick-drying and insulating - when combined with the tough, weatherproof outer it creates warmth inside the changing robe that doesn't escape through the fabric.

The pockets are fleece-lined for extra warmth and comfort, and the sleeves have Velcro cuffs so you can batten down the hatches that bit more when needed.

Does the Two Bare Feet Elemental Changing Robe offer good value for money?

At £70, the Elemental Changing Robe is excellent value for money, especially if you're not going to be wearing it in extreme weather conditions. While other changing robes are equipped for snow and ice, this one is perfectly suited to the British climate, and won't feel too hot to wear during summer.

With ten colour combinations to choose from and no big, splashy branding, I think this is a great choice for a practical, stylish changing robe. I also love that it comes in tween sizes.
